1. Planting time

The planting time of cucumbers is generally around March-April every year. The temperature at this time is already relatively warm. It can be higher than 5℃ at night and can reach 5℃ during the day. 18℃ is suitable for the growth and development of seedlings. Different regions also need to adjust according to the local climate, which can be earlier or later. In addition, planting can also be done in autumn, usually two months before frost. If planted too late, frost will affect its quality and reduce yield.

2. Seed soaking and germination

Before planting, the seeds must be germinated first. Prepare hot water of 50℃, put the seeds in and soak them for a few minutes, which can achieve the effect of disinfection and sterilization. Then change to 30°C warm water and soak for 3-4 hours. After taking it out, place it in a damp cloth, keep the temperature at about 20°C, and spray water frequently to keep it moist. In this way, you can see the seeds turning white in about two days.

3. How to plant

Whether it is ground planting or potted planting, the soil must be suitable. Garden soil is usually mixed with river sand to prepare the substrate, and an appropriate amount of farmyard manure is also added as base fertilizer. This can provide certain nutrients, which is very helpful for the growth of cucumbers. Sow the seeds into the soil, cover them with a layer of fine soil, water them appropriately, and wait a week or so to see them sprout.

4. Transplanting

Generally, when the cucumber grows to two true leaves, it must be transplanted. In case of intensive planting in the early stage, they should be planted separately. Just plant two in one flower pot. Be careful not to damage its root system when transplanting, and pay attention to watering afterwards. Growth can usually resume within a week. Then we need to prepare the scaffolding and carry out good water and fertilizer management.
