The parrots that are not protected in China are budgerigar, peach-faced love parrot and Xuan Feng parrot. Therefore, it is not illegal to raise 1000 budgerigar without obtaining a certificate, and there will be no sentence.
According to the Wildlife Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, there are three kinds of parrots that do not need to apply for a license: peach-faced peony parrot, budgerigar and cocktailed parrot. Raising other kinds of parrots requires an artificial breeding license.
