Basic courses for beginners to raise koi fish
Beginners begin to learn the basic course of raising koi fish, starting with fish species selection, water tank, feeding, water quality and matters needing attention.

1, select fish species.

Select fish species with strong body, no damage, bright color, neat edge, clear markings, straight fish back, good fish balance, magnificent body, steady swimming posture, symmetrical fins, flexibility and agility for breeding.

Step 2 choose a water tank

According to the size of the aquarium, the number of aquaculture is decided. Generally, six koi fish with a length of 15-20cm can be cultured in aquariums with a length of 60cm, a width of 30cm and a height of15-20cm, and eight with a length of16544 can be cultured in water tanks with a length of 90cm, a width of 50cm and a height of 30cm.

Step 3 feed

Koi fish often eats animal food bait and plant food bait. Generally, koi fish likes to eat animal food bait, such as fish worms, cyclops, paramecium, earthworms and so on. And plant food bait is common, such as radish and aquatic plants. Don't feed too much bait, such as fish and worms, pellet feed, small earthworms, etc. , usually eighty percent full.

4. Water quality

Tap water is commonly used in aquaculture in koi fish, while well water, spring water and river water are rarely used to raise koi fish. No matter what kind of water quality, it contains a certain amount of chlorine. Therefore, chlorine should be removed before use. Appropriate amount of sodium thiosulfide can be put into water to react with chlorine to generate harmless sodium salt, or the water can be exposed to the sun for 2-3 days, or it can be continuously aerated to drive away chlorine.

5. Preventive measures

Generally, feeding twice a day is enough. If you are a novice, you must remember. Beginners don't understand that the frequency of feeding koi fish every day may be different, because every time you feed him, you will eat it, but if you can't finish it, the water quality will be affected because of too much waste of slag. Even nitrifying bacteria, no matter how good, will only be counterproductive if they exceed the amount.
