1983 when Huo Yuanjia, a Hong Kong TV series, was introduced to the mainland, people were moved by this chivalrous and national chivalrous master. In 2006, Huo Yuanjia, the movie starring Jet Li, once again set off Huo Yuanjia fever.
Huo Yuanjia died at the age of 42. What did he die of in his heyday?
Huo Yuanjia, founder of Jason Wu Sports Association, 1868, was born in Xiaonanhe Village, Jinghai County, Tianjin (now the western suburb of Tianjin). In his twenties, he was just an ordinary farmer with no education. In addition to farming, he also went to Tianjin in his spare time to do some small business to supplement his family. He was weak in his teens. His father, Huo Dian, told him to give up martial arts, but he practiced secretly and secretly competed with his brother.
/kloc-in the autumn of 0/890, Huo Yuanjia defeated a martial artist who came to the door for a competition and gained a high reputation for martial arts. After that, Huo Yuanjia became a minor celebrity in Tianjin because of his bravery. Huo Yuanjia worked as a steward in Hang Jiao (a spontaneous organization of porters) and later worked in Huaiqing Pharmacy outside Tianjin North Gate. During his work in a pharmacy, he can stir up a thousand kilograms of medicinal materials and push two large bluestones to drive the wheels. People gave him a nickname: Huo Hercules.
When Huo Yuanjia was working in Huaiqing Pharmacy, he met the shopkeeper Nong Sun Jin. Nong Sun Jin once studied in Japan, and he was very knowledgeable. He often tells Huo Yuanjia some Chinese and foreign stories, which opens his eyes and makes him understand a lot of truth.
190 1 year, a Russian strongman named Shifanlov came to Tianjin Theatre to perform. He claimed that he was invincible in China, which opened his eyes to the sick man of East Asia. Huo Yuanjia found Lennon to compete with Si's in the theater. When Shifanlov learned privately that Huo Yuanjia was good at martial arts, he decided to compromise. On the day of the agreed tournament, Shifanlov begged for mercy and said, I just came to Tianjin to perform, and what I said doesn't count. Huo Yuanjia asked him to admit his mistake in the newspaper, but Smith had to agree and left Tianjin soon.
1909, British strongman Aubin posed in Shanghai, mocking China people as the sick man of East Asia. People in Shanghai are very dissatisfied, but no one dares to accept the challenge. When the farmer learned this news from the newspaper, he recommended Huo Yuanjia to Chen, a famous Shanghainese, a member of the League and a revolutionary. As soon as Huo Yuanjia arrived in Shanghai, the major newspapers in Shanghai printed news in large font. Huo Yuanjia challenged Obi-yin. Ao and Huo agreed not to use the techniques of China Wushu in the competition, such as fingering and hooking, and agreed to hold an open competition. But by the time of the game, there was no sign of him. It turns out that Obin has escaped.
19 10 In September, the Japanese Judo Association was not convinced that Huo Yuanjia had scared off the Russian heroes, so it chose a dozen experts to face Huo Yuanjia. Huo let his disciples fight first, and Liu Yi braked, winning five games in a row. The Japanese team leader was very angry, so he decided to play Huo Yuanjia by name. As soon as the two sides fought, Japanese leaders knew that their opponents were powerful. He tried to hurt people with his black hand, but Huo caught him. Huo Yuanjia feint, elbow arm, the enemy leader fracture, had to give up.
In Tianjin, Shanghai and other places, Huo Yuanjia defeated foreigners with awe-inspiring righteousness and superb martial arts, which really made the people in the late Qing Dynasty proud. 19 10 On July 7th, with the help of Nong and his martial arts colleagues, Huo Yuanjia founded the China Gymnastics Club (later renamed the Sports Club) in Shanghai. He broke the prejudice of the Wulin portal at that time, personally taught Huo Jiazu's lost boxing, and recruited various martial arts teachers to be teachers in Jason Wu Guild Hall to teach students to learn various martial arts.
Sun Yat-sen spoke highly of Huo Yuanjia's courage to defend his country. On the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of Jason Wu Club 10, he personally attended the meeting and wrote four characters of the martial arts spirit to commemorate Huo Yuanjia.
Poisoned by the Japanese? 19 14 September 14, Huo Yuanjia died suddenly, only 70 days before he founded the China Jason Wu Gymnastics Association. Jason Wu Gymnastics will hold a grand funeral for him. The cemetery is in the northern suburb of Shanghai, and the tombstone is engraved with the tomb of Hercules Huo Yuanjia. Shortly before his death, he fought with Japanese samurai and took medicine from Japanese doctors, so it is generally said that he was poisoned by Japanese.
The story that Huo Yuanjia died of poisoning first appeared in 19 12. The famous martial arts novelist published two works, Boxing and Biography of Modern Chivalrous Man, to Kairan. According to rumors, he wrote a story about Huo Yuanjia being poisoned by Japanese doctor Akino. The general plot is:
After the Japanese failed in the championship, they hosted a banquet for Huo Yuanjia. During the dinner, I learned that Huo Yuanjia suffered from choking cough and trauma in this tournament, so I introduced Japanese doctor Akino to treat Huo Yuanjia. Huo Yuanjia had no doubt about this, accepted it gladly, and was admitted to Akino Hospital in Hongkou Baiduqiao. After taking the medicine, Huo Yuanjia's condition did not improve, but gradually deteriorated. Jason Wu Club tried to take Huo Yuanjia out of the hospital, but Akino tried his best to stop him. After many efforts, he was discharged from the hospital and was treated by Jason Wu Club colleague Chen Zizheng. In the end, he died of overdose in Shanghai Jason Wu Sports Association. Huo Yuanjia's disciples and friends took the medicine that Huo Yuanjia took every day to test, only to know that it was chronic lung rot medicine. At this point, I understand that the Japanese secretly killed him.
Later films and TV shows were all based on this. The plot plays up Huo Yuanjia's martyrdom. He was killed by the Japanese for his country and nation, which not only highlighted the greatness of the hero, but also easily mobilized the patriotism and unity of the audience.
The theory of poisoning has certain historical basis. According to the historical records of the early Jason Wu Association, Lux (referring to Huo Yuanjia) died in Rosty Yi, and Qiu Yi (Japanese doctor Akino) has fled back to the cave. Lux's disciples became suspicious, and the rest of the medicine Lux took every day was handed over to the public hospital for examination. The hospital doctor said,' So is this medicine for chronic lung rot'. This passage is the most powerful evidence of poisoning theory, and it was published in the History of Wu Jing to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Jason Wu Society in 10/0.
On August 6, 2000, Xinhua Tianjin Channel sent a message: Huo Wenting, the second grandson of Huo Yuanjia, who lives in Xiaonanhe Village, Xiqing District, Tianjin, recently further confirmed that the Japanese were the culprit in killing Huo Yuanjia through in-depth investigation and detailed interview. It is hard for the Japanese to accept that someone excuses them on the grounds of family and national feelings. From 1999, Mr. Huo Wenting, together with the comrades of the District Cultural Bureau, visited the Wulin Guild Hall where Huo Yuanjia once lived for many times in Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang and other provinces and cities, and read a lot of materials, confirming that the Japanese army bought joints in the name of helping Huo Yuanjia to cure diseases, and put chronic lung rot drugs in the medicine, which caused Huo Yuanjia, who could have been cured, to die suddenly.
Huo Yuanjia's great-grandson, Huo Zi, once again confirmed that the Japanese had poisoned him in an interview with the Tribune of the International Herald Tribune in February 2006. He said that when he moved Huo Yuanjia's grave in 1980s, he examined the remains and found that they were all black, which proved that he had been poisoned to death.
