It has been nearly a year and a half since the word ozone pollution officially entered the national standard, but in fact, we have to deal with ozone pollution for a much longer time.
Under the influence of continuous high temperature and static weather, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has once again ushered in a series of high-concentration ozone attacks. In fact, based on the coincidence of summer weather conditions and ozone generation conditions, in recent years, many cities in China will face ozone pollution in summer, and this year, some cities have ozone pollution before the spring. Compared with PM2.5 pollution, the harm of ozone pollution is more difficult to detect and protect.
It should be noted that because ozone itself is invisible, it is useless to rely on "naked eye observation", or it is necessary to make inquiries even about weather forecast and through air pollution APP. In addition, because ozone is a chemical air pollutant, it is impossible to produce protective effect with ordinary PM2.5 masks. At present, most air purifiers commonly used in families only have the function of purifying particulate matter, so they are ineffective for ozone pollution. Therefore, in ozone polluted weather, the most effective way is to close the doors and windows and reduce going out, especially at noon, when ozone pollution activities are the most vigorous, so we should pay special attention to it.
Why has ozone pollution started to show signs of being more frequent in summer and starting earlier in recent years? It can be mainly attributed to the frequent occurrence of high temperature phenomena and the continuous increase of precursor pollutants generated by ozone. According to the climate index data of China released by the National Climate Center and Caixin Think Tank, the average annual high temperature index of China from 1999 to 20 16 is more than twice that of the previous period, of which 20 13 and 20 16 are obviously high temperature years, and more high temperature weather combined with strong sunshine is the frequent occurrence of ozone pollution.
In addition, it is well known that ozone is generated by nitrogen oxides (NOX) and volatile organic compounds (VOX) under the action of sunlight and ultraviolet rays. The main sources of NOX and VOX are human power and industrial activities, and motor vehicle exhaust also contributes greatly to this. Therefore, in order to reduce the occurrence of ozone pollution from the root, it is necessary to accelerate the energy transformation and industrial restructuring in China.
