When the True Vessel of the Heart appears, the pulse is firm and pulsating, like pressing a coix seed or caressing a jade pearl, with a reddish-black color and no light, and withered hair, the patient dies immediately. When the True Vessel of the Lungs appears, the pulsations are large and hollow, as gentle as a feather on the skin, the color is white and red, and the hair is withered and scorched, and the patient will die. When the True Vessel of the Kidneys appears, the pulsations are like clues that want to be broken, and are as firm as if one were to play a stone with one's fingers, and the patient's color is black and yellow, and the hair is withered and scorched. When the true pulse of the spleen appears, the pulsation is weak and feeble, the speed is uneven, the color is yellow and green, and the hair is withered and scorched, and the patient will die.

Wherever the above true organ pulse appears, it is an incurable death.

Huang Di then asked: the patient will die if he has a true organ pulse, why is that?

Qi Bo replied: The essence of the five organs of the human body comes from the essence of the grains and cereals eaten by the spleen and stomach. Therefore, the five organs are based on the spleen and stomach. The essence of the five organs cannot reach the taiyin meridian of the hand by itself, but must be transported to the taiyin meridian of the hand through the essence of the spleen and stomach. The essence of each of the five organs reaches the hand Taiyin meridian on its own with its main time.
