Colchicine is highly toxic, common nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, gastrointestinal reaction is a precursor to severe poisoning, symptoms appear immediately stop the drug, kidney damage can be seen in hematuria, oliguria, the bone marrow has a direct inhibitory effect, caused by granulocyte deficiency, aplastic anemia.

Gastrointestinal reaction: is the most common side effect. Many gout patients experience nausea, loss of appetite, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea after taking colchicine. Some patients are unable to stay on the medication because of more severe nausea and vomiting or diarrhea.

Myelotoxic reaction: mainly inhibit the hematopoietic function of bone marrow, resulting in leukopenia, aplastic anemia and so on.
(3)
Liver damage: it can cause liver function abnormalities, and jaundice can occur in severe cases.
(4)
Kidney damage: proteinuria can occur, usually does not cause renal failure.
(5)
Other side effects: including alopecia, skin allergies, mental depression.
