It has the effects of clearing away lung-heat, resolving phlegm and stopping vomiting. Commonly used for cough due to lung heat, blood in sputum and vomiting due to stomach heat.

It has the effects of clearing away heat, relieving restlessness, quenching thirst, inducing diuresis and relaxing bowels. Often used to quench thirst, urine is not good.
