The product is ovate, ellipsoid or globular, 4.5-8.5 cm long, 3.5-6 cm in diameter. the surface is brown, yellow-brown or green-brown with dark patches and yellow pilose, some with 6-11 longitudinal stripes. There are stylar remnants at the tip and fruiting peduncle scars at the base.

Light, brittle, thin pericarp, easy to break. Fruit scoops (meso- and endocarp) spongy, light brown.

Seeds flat-orbicular, numerous, ca. 1.5 cm long, ca. 1.2 cm wide; light red to brownish-red, slightly concave in the middle of both surfaces, surrounded by radial grooves, with grooves along the edges. Slight gas, sweet flavor.

Luohan Guo is sweet and moist and cool in nature, and should not be taken by patients with wind-cold cold and cough.
