The height of the plant is 150cm, branched or unbranched, the leaf blade is rectangular, ovate, the lower leaves are often palmately 3-lobed, the middle leaf blade has a tooth defect, the upper leaf blade is close to the whole edge.
Humulus stalk hollow, or with white pith, slightly hairy, leaf length 3-10cm, leaf width 2.5-4cm, leaf blade with 1-5cm long petiole, late summer and early fall flowering, flowers solitary, or 2-3 together in the leaf axils, calyx lobes are lanceolate, pilose, corolla is tubular, white, often purplish-red, yellow color halo, capsule is a rectangular, longitudinal ribs.
