Observation diary of observing soybeans placed in water

Friday, September 18th

When I returned home from school at noon today, I grabbed a handful of soybeans and prepared to soak them. Before pouring the water, I observed carefully. The soybeans were round, like small pearls. I put the soybeans in a small bowl, added some water, stirred them, covered them with a piece of gauze and placed them on the stove.

Saturday, September 19th

After I got up this morning, I picked up the bowl and lifted the gauze to see that the round soybeans had soaked, swollen, and grown longer and larger. I poured out the water in the bowl and covered it with wet gauze. When I went to see it in the afternoon, the beans had already grown small white germs.

Sunday, September 20th

Today is the third day of soaking soybeans. In the morning, I got up and took a look, ah! The beans have grown thin buds about 2 centimeters long. The thin buds have become curved and are not as straight as yesterday. I got some water and rinsed the bean sprouts, then wet gauze with water and covered it with water.

Monday, September 21st

The bean sprouts are getting longer and longer, and they are getting longer and more curved. I measured it with a ruler and it turned out to be 4 centimeters long! Like yesterday, I changed the water for the bean sprouts and covered them with wet gauze.

Tuesday, September 22

Today is the fifth day of bean sprout growth. I measured it with a ruler and found that the bean sprouts had grown to more than 7 centimeters. The roots of the bean sprouts are getting longer and thinner, and some small white sprouts have grown out, and the bean skin is about to fall off.

Wednesday, September 23

The beans have slowly turned green and most of the skin has fallen off. The beans are also separated. Now the small shoots are growing longer and longer, turning into many small roots. I measured it with a ruler. The longest bean sprouts were 15 centimeters, and the short ones were 7 or 8 centimeters.

Thursday, September 24

Today is the seventh day. The roots of the bean sprouts have turned black and dried up. In the middle of the two petals of the bean, small bright yellow leaves grew.

A bean can change so much in seven days. If you plant it in the ground, it will take root, sprout, bloom, bear fruit, and grow many beans. This is the life of beans.
