Why do sugar shops here in Mayuan use "Huazhou Sugar Water" as a signboard?
Just walked into this place called Chen dessert.
I looked at the menu: green bean paste, red bean paste, and sago dew … I didn't feel anything special on the whole menu.
I ordered a green bean paste and a coconut milk taro green bean paste.
When I came up, I saw that the coconut milk taro mung bean paste was packed in a bowl, and the mung bean paste was packed in a cup with a straw.
Mung bean paste tastes rustling, icy and cool, very comfortable, and has a very rich fragrance of sucrose, just like the feeling of drinking a drink.
Look at the menu again and find the small print in the upper right corner, saying that the sugar water is made of 100% cane sugar. Is this the secret of Huazhou sugar water?
Let's talk about going back to Mayuan.
Twenty years ago, when talking about Ma Garden, Jiangmen people would think of Guangji, a restaurant famous for its cat and dog meat.
Twenty years later, in Mayuan, Guangji no longer sells cat meat and dog meat, but transformed into a banquet.
Near Guangji, there is a flower market near the Chinese New Year. Oranges, orchids, Nepenthes ... There are many varieties, and a street is filled with many choices, and the prices seem to be cheaper than other places.
The square in front of Guangji has also changed greatly, including fitness square, basketball court ... There will be village nights during the Spring Festival.
Now, not many people remember that Ma Garden was once rich in lychees, which matured in March and was called "March Red".
This is recorded in an old book that I rummaged through the bookcase today. There are many folk stories and legends about Jiangmen in this "Jiangmen Suburb Data Collection". There is another interesting legend about this "March Red" litchi.
I asked my family, and they still have some impressions of litchi in Mayuan. They said that the lychees in Mayuan were as big as table tennis, and they tasted sweet, crisp and small. Those lychees were very big and many, bigger than banyan trees.
However, with the later development, litchi trees in Mayuan were cut down one after another, and now there is probably no "March Red".
Now many villages in Mayuan are modern buildings, and there are small houses everywhere, that is, the old houses inside, and the wall painting has its own characteristics.
The brick walls of the old bungalows here are a few years old. The black walls are painted with roses and wisteria patterns, which have the feeling of oil painting. At first glance, they look like real flower walls. Very nice.
During the Spring Festival, I went back to the yellow cloth in Muzhou, Xinhui, and saw patterns painted on the houses along the way. The pattern on this side of the yellow cloth takes huts and small trees as the theme, just like a small mountain village in a fairy tale, which is very distinctive.
Nowadays, the countryside is becoming more and more beautiful and creative.
