When the disease occurs, there are dark green and light green mottled leaves on the leaves. Severely infected plants become dwarfed, have smaller leaves, are deformed in the shape of chicken feet, and have no or few melons. There are many tumor-like protrusions on the surface of the melon or it is a deformed melon. In the later stages, the diseased leaves turn yellow and die.
Zucchini virus disease is caused by infection with a variety of viruses. There are mainly cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), melon mosaic virus (MMV), watermelon mosaic virus (WMV) and tobacco ringspot virus (TRSM).
Pattern of incidence: Cucumber mosaic virus and other viruses can overwinter on ratoon weeds and vegetables such as celery. It is spread by aphids sucking sap and friction. Melon mosaic virus seeds can be poisonous. High temperatures, drought, extensive management, and fields lacking fertilizer all cause severe disease.
Prevention and treatment methods:
①Select disease-resistant varieties. Such as Tianjin 25 and Northeast 0706 Jiaogua.
②Agricultural prevention and control. See cucumber virus disease.
③ Kill aphids and prevent diseases in time. See Melon Aphid Control.
④Pharmaceutical prevention and control. Soak the seeds with 1.5% Phytozolin 1000 times solution for 10 minutes, or spray with 1.5% Phytozolin 800~1000 times solution plus 20% Virus A 600 times solution at the early stage of the disease.
