Feeding skills of truncated nautilus. Understand the water quality.
The hardness of domestic tap water is different in different counties and cities, and it will be weakly acidic or alkaline according to different regions; Although tap water is soft water, it has been purified and sterilized, so the water contains bactericidal substances such as chlorine. Although it will not directly endanger the health of people and livestock, it will cause harm and even death to fish that breathe directly with water. Generally, freshwater fish prefer soft water environment. Although slightly hard water quality will not have a serious impact on fish, if the water quality is soft or hard, sudden change of water quality will make fish unable to adapt and fade in a short time.
Second, water quality management.
Parrotfish should use old water with high hardness. The water temperature is about 28℃, the optimum pH value is 7 or 6.5~7.5, and the hardness of carbonate is about 3~6? KH. Because the pH value of the fed water is preferably neutral, the most important thing is not to affect the pH value of the water, regardless of whether the substrate is sand and gravel. Because some sand and gravel will release substances that make water acidic or alkaline, which will affect the growth and bright red color of parrots, it is suggested that medical stone or ylang stone is the best, and at the same time, NH3 (ammonia), NH4+ (ammonium), NO2- (nitrite) and pH (pH) should be checked once a day and kept in the most suitable range. Attachment: If the fish changes environment, the water quality is not suitable, and the color becomes pale, you can add xanthate (Yuliling) or black water (Caoni Pill), and the color will soon change back.
Third, the substrate
Yilan stone, medical stone or black gallstone are the most ideal. Its function is to set up a bed of nitrifying bacteria, stabilize the water quality, precipitate organic matter under the substrate after decomposition, and also have a beautification effect. If the bare cylinder is used, nitrifying bacteria can only breed in the filter pool because there is no substrate, which reduces the breeding space of nitrifying bacteria and cannot stabilize minerals and trace elements in the water. At the same time, pathogenic sources or other pollutants in the water can also be directly dispersed in the water.
Fourth, feeding
1. Larval stage: The feed management in larval stage is very important, and the feeding amount is exhausted. Feeding about every four hours, each time for the maximum food intake (that is, until you don't want to eat), its role is to establish the growth foundation of young fish; Young fish are mainly fed with feed, and frozen or dried red worms, shrimp or breadworms can also be fed at this stage.
2. Sub-adult fish stage: Feed is also the main food. During this period, fish consumption increased. In addition to the previous bait, breadworms, beef or small black shell shrimp can be fed.
Feeding precautions:
1. When feeding, if the fish is not finished within five minutes, remember to remove the residual bait immediately, otherwise it will pollute the water quality.
2. Observe the health status of the fish every day to see if the fish's activities are healthy and lively.
Key points of feeding parrot fish, 1, feeding
When raising red-spindle parrot fish, we should pay special attention to the bait management in the juvenile stage and try to feed it every four hours. Feeding adult fish, in addition to feed, you need to feed some breadworms, beef or small black shell shrimp.
2. Water quality
The old water with high hardness should be used in the breeding of the red-ingot parrot fish, and the suitable water temperature is about 28℃, and the most suitable pH value is in the range of 6.5-7.5.
Step 3: Clean
Every time you feed the parrot fish, if you don't finish it within five minutes, you should pick up the remaining bait in time to avoid polluting the water quality and affecting the health of the parrot fish.
4. Matrix
It is suggested to put some bluestone, medical stone or black gall stone under the fish tank to cultivate red-spindle parrot fish. These substrates will help to stabilize the water quality and benefit the growth of red-spindle parrot fish.
Step 5 change water
When raising red-spindle parrot fish, we should also pay attention to changing water. The temperature difference between water temperature before and after changing water should not exceed 0.5 degrees, and only one third of old water can be changed at a time. If the fish tank is large, it should be replaced once a week. For small fish tanks, it is recommended to change the water once every three days.
