The source is the root of Inula patens of Compositae. Mining in autumn, washing and cutting, and drying.
Perennial herb in original form, 30 ~ 50 cm high. The rhizome is short. Stems are cylindrical, reddish to purple-brown, densely rusty and pilose. Simple leaves alternate, the leaves are broadly lanceolate to obovate-lanceolate, 5 ~ 6 cm long and about 2 cm wide, the edges are sparsely serrated, and both sides are densely rusty. The head is solitary at the top of the branch; The flowers are yellow. Series of involucral bracts. Achenes have 4 ~ 5 edges and spiny crown hairs. Flowering in summer.
Habitat distribution is born in hillside, sparse forest and roadside grass. Distributed in Yunnan and Guizhou.
