The pear is praised by friends at home and abroad for its bright color, delicate pulp, refreshing and juicy taste and strong flavor, and is known as the "king of pears". It is a rare pear species that can be compared with many pears such as Korla Fragrant Pear in Xinjiang, Gongli Pear in Shanxi and Crystal Pear originated in Japan.
Brief introduction of species
Nanguo pear is a rare variety in the world. Nanguo pear ranks first among the pears introduced in Volume III of china fruit Records. 17 pears were appraised by the Fruit Research Institute of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1997: Nanguo pear, Korla fragrant pear, Jinfeng pear and Bali pear were rated as the four famous pears in China.
Nanguo pear is a natural seedling, which belongs to an excellent variety in Qiuzi pear system. 1987, the Dagushan Town Government of Anshan City established a monument to the ancestral tree of Nanguo pear. This ancestral tree of Nanguo pear was protected in the courtyard of Biwa blue brick, with a crimson bark and wild needles on it.
Now the trunk of this pear tree stems from the roots of an old tree that had died before. As for the age of the dead old tree, there is no way to verify it now.
