Yichang's special snacks include radish jiaozi, red oil noodles, cold shrimp, cold salad, crispy oil and so on.
1. Radish jiaozi: Radish jiaozi is a fried food. First, a layer of white pulp made of soybeans and rice is spread on a special meniscus iron spoon, and then the shredded radish is cut and mixed on the white pulp, fried in an oil pan, and then taken out when it is golden. Because the finished product looks like a big jiaozi, it is named Radish jiaozi.
2. Red oil noodles: Red oil noodles were first spread from Sichuan, Chongqing and other places, and became the first choice for Yichang people to eat breakfast because of its cheap price and affordable weight.
3. Cold shrimp: Cold shrimp is made by pulping rice, and then leaking the white slurry into cold water with a colander after cooking. Because it looks like shrimp and is cold, it is called "cold shrimp" by Yichang people, and it can be served with brown sugar water or white sugar water.
4. Cold-mixed Japanese knotweed root: The scientific name of Japanese knotweed root is "Houttuynia cordata Thunb". In most cases, Japanese knotweed root is made cold, but it is also fried with other dishes, which makes the flavor more unique.
5. Oil crispness: First, the glutinous rice is steamed into glutinous rice, and then white sugar and sesame stuffing are added into it to make it into a prismatic shape and then fried in a pan, which is a special fried snack in Yichang.
