Ochanomizu Women’s University is a national women’s university located in Otsuka, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. The predecessor school was located in Ochanomizu (Yushima-3-chome, Hongo-ku). Ochanomizu University has an international student dormitory exclusively for international students. However, the rooms are limited and cannot meet the needs of all international students. Some international students will also rent rooms outside.

1. Ochanomizu Women's University International Student Dormitory

The Ochanomizu University International Student Dormitory is open to regular students, exchange students and government-funded international students with residence status. Trainees cannot apply. The period of stay is the normal graduation time (4 years for bachelor's degree, 2 years for master's degree, 3 years for doctoral degree). If there are reasons such as suspension of study or repeating a grade, the period of stay exceeds this period, and the period of stay cannot be extended. The time to apply for move-in is generally February. Students who wish to apply for move-in should pay attention to the school website announcement board.

The Ochanomizu University International Student Dormitory is located in Banqiao District. It has four 4- or 5-story reinforced concrete buildings and can accommodate 399 students. The single room is about 12 square meters in size and has a toilet and washroom. The room is equipped with beds, air conditioning, tables and chairs, refrigerators and other equipment. The kitchen and bathroom are shared. The rent is 4,700 yen per month, and international students also need to pay for water, electricity, gas, etc., which is about 7,000 yen per month.

2. Tokyo International Exchange Center

Tokyo International Exchange Center is located at Aomi 2-79, Koto-ku, Tokyo, postal code 135-8630. It is an international student dormitory directly operated by the Japan Student Services Organization. . For graduate students and research scholars at Ochanomizu University. The library does not accept individual applications. Students who wish to move in must apply through the school.

3. Comprehensive housing compensation system for international students

Generally, a guarantor is required to apply for accommodation in a private apartment. After international students join the Comprehensive Housing Compensation System for International Students, the university can guarantee their accommodation in private apartments. For specific information, international students are asked to inquire at the International Students Department of the International Exchange Office of Ochanomizu University.
