Guangzhou is really delicious. For Guangzhou, the best food is definitely downstairs. For tourists, I recommend going to Shangxiajiu.

As a typical neighborhood in Old Xiguan, Shangxiajiu has a lot of delicious food, so it’s the perfect place for a gourmet check-in!

The shops below are all super delicious, and they are all within walking distance. You can eat all the way in order, or you can choose what you like!

1. Taotaoju Let me first introduce the restaurant Taotaoju.

Their crispy tofu is really crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It's a little salty on the outside, but the tofu inside has a rich flavor and is delicious without dipping sauce.

Iced sweet and sour pork is their specialty. The cooking method is very novel. The hot dish is placed in ice cubes. The outside tastes cold, but the inside of the meat remains warm. The taste is very special.

The century-old roast goose is their signature dish. If you eat the skin alone, you will feel tired. If you only eat the meat, it will have no taste. However, the combination of skin, meat and sauce is just right and indispensable.

By the way, I didn’t get the crystal shrimp dumplings when I went there, which was a bit of a pity, so I’ll try them next time.

2. Yinji Rice Roll Next is another store I went to - Yinji Rice Roll Shop.

Their rice rolls are very soft and glutinous, and the ingredients are generous.

The Yipin Tingzi porridge is super rich, stir it before drinking.

By the way, I also went to a herbal tea shop, which can be found everywhere in Guangzhou.

I went to try a cup of hot herbal tea. Although it tasted similar to traditional Chinese medicine, it only tasted good if I drank it with emotion.

3. Chaoji Claypot Rice Next is Chaoji Claypot Rice. There are so many people here that you have to find a seat before ordering.

They set a 20-30 minute delivery time during peak hours, there is sauce and chili on the table, and the crispy rice is very good.

Both the pork ribs and bacon rice are delicious. You won’t be disappointed if you eat either one, so don’t be afraid to try it!

4. Shun Kee Ice Room At Shun Kee Ice Room, you also need to find a location first, and then order by scanning the QR code.

Their red bean double skin milk basically has no sweetness and is relatively refreshing.

The Gold Medal Mango Ice Cream is very delicious, cool and refreshing, with moderate sweetness.

As for the signature beef three-star soup, it is full of ingredients and the hot and sour beef offal soup may not be used to you the first time you try it.

5. Wenji Yixin Chicken Wenji Yixin Chicken is really delicious!

The chicken skin is springy, the chicken is firm but not chewy, and the whole chicken is very tasty.

It is said that it is even more delicious than Yutang Chunnuan’s Sunflower Chicken. I highly recommend it.

6. Nan Xin milk dessert expert’s red bean double skin milk is very delicious, I packed some.

They are made with pure buffalo milk, which has a rich milk flavor, smooth texture and moderate sweetness.

Yangzhi Ganlu is thicker than the milk tea shop, and you can clearly feel the presence of real ingredients. There is an indescribable taste in it.

Overall, I prefer Nan Xin Milk Dessert Expert’s Double Skin Milk.
