Before going to Guilin, I checked a lot of information on Ctrip. This is an important reason why this self-guided tour of Guilin ended successfully. However, I also felt that the online information was scattered and inconvenient to search.

This self-guided tour lasted for four days. The main tour contents include the highlights of the Li River from Yangdi to Xingping, rafting on the Yulong River starting from Fuli Bridge, Dazhai Rice Terraces in Longsheng, and Elephant Trunk Mountain in Guilin.

The itinerary is relatively loose and adequate sleep is ensured every day. Therefore, people do not feel very tired, nor are they tired after returning, and can quickly get back to their original work and life.

Itinerary D1 Arrive in Guilin in the evening and stay in Guilin. Starting from April, Guilin has ushered in the peak tourist season, so the price of air tickets to and from Guilin has also increased accordingly. Discounted air tickets are difficult to buy and need to be booked in advance.

I booked nearly 20 days in advance and finally got a 55% discount on round-trip air tickets for Spring and Autumn flights, but the time was not very good, so I left late and came back late.

On the first day, we took off from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport at 7:50 pm. The flight took two hours and arrived in Guilin around 10 o'clock.

Guilin Liangjiang International Airport is 30 kilometers away from the city, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. There is an airport bus (luxury Iveco) to the city. D2 Visit the highlights of the Li River from Yangdi to Xingping, stay in Yangshuo and sleep until you wake up naturally in the morning, departing from Guilin at 10 o'clock.

Take the Yangshuo special bus at the parking lot in front of Guilin Railway Station (South Railway Station), tell the driver to get off at Yangdi Intersection, and then transfer to the bus to Yangdi at Yangdi Intersection.

The intersection of Yangdi is about 15 kilometers away from Yangdi. The bus is usually minibus. The fare is 2.5 yuan/person and the journey takes about 20 minutes.

We chartered a motor boat and set off from Yangdi Pier to Jiuma Painting Mountain. The negotiated price was 80 yuan.

Since it was a private boat and the tourism bureau was cracking down on it, there were some "dodges" along the way.

I met many tourist boats coming down from Guilin and saw so many people crowded on the boat queuing up to take pictures. But there were only two of us on the boat here, so we could enjoy the scenery along the coast. Although it was a little dodgey, it was still very special.

After arriving at Jiumahua Mountain, we walked ashore for a while. On the way, we accidentally discovered a large open and flat grassland and about twenty buffaloes grazing leisurely. There were also some equally leisurely smoking homemade cigarettes and chatting about home-cooked food.

Walking on the shore, we felt a bit stuffy and there were flies along the way, so not long after we walked, we chose the waterway again.

We rented a bamboo raft for 35 yuan and drifted leisurely from the vicinity of Jiuma Painting Mountain to Xingping. On the way, we will see the best Guilin landscape essence (Xingping-Fishing Village-20 yuan background pattern viewing point).

Knowing that we had not had lunch, the rafters let us ashore about ten minutes away from Xingping Pier. We had a real farm meal at a farmhouse on the shore, which cost about 50 yuan.

After dinner, the proprietress happened to have to go to Xingping Town for some business, so she took us to Xingping Bus Station in her own three-wheeled motor vehicle.

From Xingping Pier to Xingping Town Bus Station, it takes about 30 minutes on foot.

The hiking time is about 5 hours, and each person needs to pay a management fee of 16 yuan. It is suitable for travelers with good physical strength and energy, but it is recommended to take a bamboo rafting trip in the middle.

The hiking route is roughly: Yangdi Pier-Langshi Village-Jiumahua Mountain-Xingping Pier-Xingping Town.

There will be many docks along the way, where bamboo rafts or motor boats are docked. If you are tired, you can also float the rest of the way (of course you need to negotiate the price with the raft operator).

There is a bus back to Yangshuo from Xingping Bus Station. There should be a bus around 6 pm. The fare is 5.5 yuan per person.

After arriving in Yangshuo, stay at Chenfeng Inn.

PS: If you choose to take a tourist boat from Guilin to Yangshuo, you need to book the ticket one day in advance. You can ask the hotel where you stayed on the first day to make the reservation on your behalf. The fare is flat (it seems to be 280 yuan/person) and the time is about 4 hours.
