In addition to Hangzhou, there are many interesting places in Hangzhou, and there are also many places for self-driving tours in the surrounding areas.
Today we recommend a few first stops for short-distance self-driving tours: Drive to Hangzhou, the ancient town of Shaoxing, and drive to Lu Xun’s hometown in Shaoxing for 1.5 hours. Visit Lu Xun’s hometown and try Shaoxing delicacies. Tickets: Shen Garden 20/person, others are free. We reserved tickets in advance on the official account
Parking: 10/time in the parking lot at the entrance. Boat ride: 90/time for a round trip, 50/time for a single trip. We visited Lu Xun’s former residence, ancestral home, memorial hall, Sanwei Bookstore, and Baicao Garden. These five attractions, Mr. Lu Xun’s life experience is here.
Let’s take a closer look at the atmosphere of riding the awning boat, but there were too many people to get on it, so after shopping we checked in and recommended Wang Laohan’s stinky tofu and rice wine popsicles.
Second stop: Anchang Ancient Town Xiaoshan drove for about 40 minutes. The road was not very smooth, but overall it was one of the most satisfying scenic spots I have visited recently.
Parking lot: 5/hour Price: Tickets are free, internal attractions are charged (40R for 8 attractions, free for Shaoxing locals with ID card) The night view of Anchang is so beautiful, the dim lights outline the outline of the arch bridge and flowing water.
The stalls nearby are all residents who live here. The alleys by the river are like street fireworks during the market. I had Shiye wontons for dinner and ate two bowls in one go.
Anchang sauce products: There are sausages, sauce duck, sauce quail, etc. You can choose according to your needs. There is a time-honored Chinese brand in the ancient town - Renchang Sauce Garden, which is very famous. Third stop: Yanzhou Ancient City Hangzhou is about 1.5 hours away.
Meicheng Town, where the Yanzhou Ancient City Scenic Spot is located, is a thousand-year-old ancient town under the jurisdiction of Jiande City and the seat of the ancient Yanzhou Prefecture.
The ancient city of Yanzhou is now very commercialized. We went there during the National Day and there were people everywhere, so we left in less than an hour.
Personally, I feel that the ancient towns in Zhejiang are all very similar. I don’t recommend going there, or choose to go in the off-season when there are fewer people. The ancient towns on rainy days should still have a unique charm.
Lunch can be had in the ancient town. There are few restaurants outside the ancient town.
But be careful to avoid lightning. There is a stinky tofu restaurant in Changsha. We tried it and stepped on the lightning.
