1. Sanhe Banquet
Sanhe Banquet is a traditional Han food custom in Dongguan, Guangdong. The local water town in Dongguan is mainly planted with rice. At the turn of summer and autumn every year, the flowers are fragrant and the rice is golden. In this season, the insects, carps and sparrows that live on the flowers and rice are all fat and tender. People catch insects, carps and sparrows, cook, put on banquets and entertain guests, commonly known as Sanhe banquet, which has a unique flavor. Among them, the "Sanhe Banquet" in Daojiao Town is the most famous.
2. Tangxia Lu Goose
When I heard Lu Goose, I thought it was "braised goose", but actually "Lu" means boiled goose. Tangxia Lu goose is a Dongguan dish with Hakka flavor. Cook the goose in the prepared soup, and after cooking, the taste will all enter the goose meat. The bone marrow is similar to the white-cut chicken, with tender meat and blood in the bone marrow, which is very fresh and delicious. Daojiao Meatball Porridge Daojiao Meatball Porridge is unique among Lingnan Porridge. The meatballs are made of fresh meat, chopped and beaten with steel bars until they become meat paste. This makes the meatballs tough, crispy in the mouth, extremely elastic, not fragrant with meat, not greasy with meatballs, fragrant on the teeth and cheeks, and long-lasting and mouth-watering.
3. Roasting goose in Houjie
The most famous goose-roasting goose in Dongguan is of course Houjie. Roasting goose wrasse, the most exquisite thing is a pot of delicious soup, which needs to be cooked with whole chicken, large pieces of meat and bones, and many special herbs and spices. When eating, blanch the seto flour in hot water and put it into a bowl, then add a tablespoon of broth, and spread the noodles with a layer of roasted goose with crispy skin and tender meat. Then the delicious soup is soaked with the smell of roasted goose, which is even more delicious and attractive.
4. Baisha Oil Duck
Oil duck is cured duck, which is the most famous in Humen Baisha, and is called' salted duck' in northern China. According to legend, during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, a salt port was set up in Baisha, Humen. Many officers and men were from Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, and they were good at raising ducks. They liked the pure river here, and when they retired from the army, they kept ducks by the stream. Those who retired from Nan 'an, Jiangxi Province, were good at preserved ducks, which provided conditions for them. Therefore, they combined the experience of raising ducks in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces with Nan 'an production skills to create a unique' Baisha Oil Duck'.
5. Dongguan sausage
Speaking of Dongguan sausage, there is also an interesting origin. Dongguan sausage is short and thick. It is said that the originator of this kind of sausage was a short boy. Because of his short stature, some sausages were dragged to the ground and stained with a lot of sediment, which made him unpopular with customers. Later, he tried to make the sausage short and thick, and the processing method was different. He took the burden to the streets, and people saw the thick sausage from a distance and smelled the special fragrance of the sausage. From then on, business was booming, and there was no need to sell it along the street. Up to now, people have described some short and elf people as "Dongguan Weenie".
