The history of the Ritz Hotel in Paris
The construction of this building began in the early18th century, and was originally used for private houses. The exterior of the building was designed by Jules Hardouin Mansart, who also participated in the design of the famous Palace of Versailles. 1854, the Péreire brothers transformed it into the headquarters of their credit and financial institutions. Cesar Ritz transformed it into a hotel on June 1898+0, and together with Auguste Escoffier, a famous culinary expert, made hotel ritz synonymous with food and excellent service. The hotel faces the famous Vendom Square, and the rooms overlook the garden behind the hotel. The hotel has become a gathering place for many celebrities and wealthy businessmen.
