Entrepreneur Interview 23 Hunan Girl Tang: A dime business, she will do it for a lifetime

Miss Tang.

Ms. Tang is born in the 1990s and is from Yongzhou, Hunan.

I write a series on it and post the interview stories I wrote.

There is a netizen who communicates very actively with me. Her name is Sibyl Yu. She wrote an article with a long title: "Even if you don't work hard for your previous dreams, you still have to fight for your elderly parents."

She said in the article: If I don’t become what I want after I graduate from college or work, and I am not strong enough to be the support of my family, what should I do and what should my parents do?

I know a girl in Shenzhen. She has just changed to a job where her salary has doubled. In her new job, she often has to work overtime, cannot eat on time, and gets home at ten o'clock in the evening.

She worked so hard because she hoped to settle down in Shenzhen as soon as possible and bring her parents to live together.

So when deciding who to interview this week, I chose to interview Ms. Tang.

Because her part-time entrepreneurial story may be an inspiration to friends who are still confused, or it may be able to give warmth and companionship to friends who are still struggling.

Ms. Tang has been starting a part-time business for two years.

Her entrepreneurial product is rice dumpling leaves.

In July 2012, Ms. Tang graduated from a logistics college in Hunan.

After graduation, she got an opportunity to work in a state-owned enterprise, but after weighing it, she gave up.

When I was young, I wanted to experience more life and didn’t want to be constrained by the routine life of a state-owned enterprise.

She chose to come to Shenzhen to work.

When Ms. Tang was working her second job in Shenzhen, she started to get involved with e-commerce and was responsible for data-related work.

Ms. Tang’s boss is an expert in foreign trade e-commerce. She saw the future prospects of e-commerce from her boss, so she came up with the idea of ??selling her own products.

When I went home during the Chinese New Year, I saw that my house was full of wild products, and I thought, why don’t I buy the wild products from online sellers?

Tang Guliang thought, even if she no longer works in Shenzhen, what else can she do when she returns to her hometown.

Miss Tang thought: This can be regarded as a contribution to her parents and a filial piety.

After returning to Shenzhen, Ms. Tang registered a Taobao store called "Xiangjia Rural Ecological Park" to sell local products.

At first, they sold everything: black medicinal beans, soybeans, black sesame seeds, peanuts, mung beans, sweet potato chips, etc.

Including rice dumpling leaves.

The photos were all taken with her mobile phone without retouching. She wanted to truly show the product.

After the store opened, there was really business.

People came one after another to buy mountain products.

Before the Dragon Boat Festival in 2014, Ms. Tang’s store traffic suddenly increased dramatically.

They are all here to buy rice dumpling leaves.

The rapid traffic caught Miss Tang off guard.

The rice dumpling leaves in the store were all picked sporadically in the mountains by her parents, and they were quickly out of stock.

Ms. Tang doesn’t want to cancel the order. As a new store, she needs these transaction records to give buyers a sense of trust.

Ms. Tang bought rice dumpling leaves online, selected rice dumpling leaves of the same quality, and sent them to Shenzhen. She repackaged them and sent them to customers.

If you don’t make money, you still have to pay for the shipping costs.

I come back to pack after get off work every day and am busy until late at night.

After the Dragon Boat Festival passed, Miss Tang began to pay attention to the Zong Ye category.

She does market research.

People who work on data are more sensitive to data. By comparing Taobao data, she felt that Zong Ye can be focused on.

Ms. Tang did a competitive product analysis and concluded three product advantages: First, the geographical advantage: Fujian, Hunan, Hubei, and Huangshan in Anhui Province produce rice dumpling leaves, and Ms. Tang’s hometown is one of the production areas; second, the original ecological advantage: Ms. Tang

The rice dumpling leaves are picked from the mountains and dried naturally, which is different from those dried products; Miss Tang shared a special method for identifying naturally sun-dried rice dumpling leaves: soaking in water.

Put the rice dumpling leaves into the water. No matter how you soak the naturally dried rice dumpling leaves, the water will be clear.

When machine-dried rice dumpling leaves are soaked in water, the water turns green. Why?

You know.

The third is the advantage of supply. In other areas where rice dumpling leaves are produced, rice dumpling leaves cannot be supplied all year round. They are out of stock when frost comes. Her family is in the mountains, so it is not affected much. Fresh rice dumpling leaves can be picked all year round.

supply, there will still be a small sales peak before the Spring Festival.

In 2015, Ms. Tang opened another Taobao store called "Xiangnong Zongye", specializing in selling Zongye.

I asked Miss Tang: If a shop specializes in selling rice dumpling leaves, will there be any business after the Dragon Boat Festival?

In fact, zongye is a long-term business.

There are many people who like to eat rice dumplings all year round. These people are regular customers.

Some people like to eat it, so some people sell it, and small food businesses also have demand.

Some merchants do not sell rice dumplings. They buy rice dumpling leaves and lotus leaves for use in steaming food. The leaves are placed at the bottom of the food. During the steaming process, the food can add a natural fragrance to the food.
