Java Surprise (13) Indonesia Miniature Park (1)

New vision of grassroots influence Xiao Xiake (Travel Expert) Indonesia Mini Park (Indonesian: Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, TMII for short) is a cultural and leisure park located on the outskirts of East Jakarta, covering an area of ??250 acres (1.0 square kilometers).

From the park, you can enjoy an overview of Indonesian culture, covering 26 Indonesian provincial pavilions, such as Central Java Pavilion, Bali Pavilion, Jakarta Pavilion, etc.

Each area has buildings with local traditional characteristics and plants unique to the area.

In addition, there is a lake in the center of the park, shaped like a miniature version of the Indonesian map.

You can take a boat to visit the "Islands of Indonesia", or you can take a cable car, a small train or a horse-drawn carriage to travel across the "country" and appreciate the scenery and characteristics of various parts of Indonesia.

There are cultural performances such as costumes and dances in the park, as well as delicacies from various places. Especially during weekends and public holidays, there are many activities, so you can fully experience Indonesia.

There are also museums, libraries, imaging centers, children's palaces and children's playgrounds here. Young people can regularly go to the park to learn traditional music and dance.

TMII is designated as an International Civilization Park and a World Peace Theme Park.

Because I went there on a Monday, there were not many tourists in the park, so I hardly saw the performances and local delicacies, but I could still appreciate the representative buildings of each province.

I originally thought it would be like the Lilliputian Scenic Area in Taoyuan or the Splendid China Miniature Scenic Area in Shenzhen, scaled down and copied.

However, after visiting the scenic spot, I found that all the buildings were not "miniatured" but built in a one-to-one physical ratio, which allowed me to better experience the characteristics and grandeur of the actual buildings.

Since there are very few Chinese introductions about TMII on the Internet, we will introduce it in detail in seven articles.

Interested readers can also go to the TMII official website to learn more about it, and you can translate Indonesian into Chinese through Google.

You must get off the train on the way back to Jakarta from Bogor Railway Station.

It was already past one o'clock in the afternoon, so I wanted to take a taxi, but found that there were no taxis at the station. There were many Grab riders who could hail a taxi directly.

When traveling independently, you have to be adaptable to transportation and food, so you are very happy to have a motorcycle to ride on. As for lunch that day, it was an ordinary restaurant after entering the park. It was easy to order Indonesian-style chicken drumstick rice.

When Grab gets off at the TMII gate, the gate is connected to an avenue. There are four golden arched doors on the beams. If you look closely, there are many pattern decorations on the decorative surface above, and you can see that the apex of each arch appears.

The lion head decoration is very similar to the traditional Chinese lion head. It can be seen that the lion is also an auspicious animal in Indonesia, because this totem is often seen in the park and throughout the Java itinerary.

The difference is that this lion head does not have a lower forehead, and is carved with seven incisors, as well as two left and right incisors and nine incisors.

After entering this gate, there is a ticket gate. You can enter by purchasing tickets at a very cheap price. You will also see a gate with vehicle control that looks like three big birds spreading their wings, with the TMII logo appearing above it.

Going forward, you will see a square. This square is a place for large-scale activities in the park. In the center of the square, there is a building that resembles the Independence Monument. Although it is not as tall as the National Monument, it is not miniscule either.

A stage was also set up in the square to celebrate the National Day.

Behind the square is a square building with a black protrusion in the middle of the red roof, like a building with a "top hat". There are tall relief walls on both sides of the building, and the walls are engraved with reliefs of the Indonesian War of Independence.

, in front of this building are the two auspicious statues seen in the garden restaurant of Bogor Botanical Garden.

There is a statue at the entrance of the building of the first lady of Indonesia's second president Suharto. She is considered a close friend and political adviser to the president. The presence of this statue here shows that the first lady should have made a great contribution to the construction of TMII.

This statue was erected to commemorate her. Later, when I visited the Indonesian Museum in the park, I discovered that it was also promoted by her.

A large modern building can be seen behind the square building. I guess it is the office building of TMII. This building is also a rare modern building in the park.

The building cannot be entered, but I saw two rows of wooden totem poles on the grass under the eaves of the top floor of the building. Upon closer inspection, they were similar to the totem poles I saw at the "Art and Ceramics Museum" in Old Town Jakarta the night before.

There is a jumping pole next to this modern building, which shows that this kind of jumping pole plays an important role in Indonesian culture. This is just like when you travel to Canada, you will see Indian Indian jumping poles in important scenic spots.

What's more special is that these soaring pillars are mainly animals rather than people, such as big birds and big snakes (dragons), and most of the animal expressions are ferocious. In particular, these snake-like animals have similar shapes to Chinese dragons, such as a bloody mouth and a protruding large mouth.

Eyes, slender claws, etc., but the horns of Indonesian snakes are less prominent.

Being able to see the distinctive Indonesian Tengzhu in TMII makes my trip worthwhile. This is just the first article in a series of articles on TMII. If you continue to move forward, you will gain more.

Opposite this modern building, I saw a square pavilion with a gray roof, built on a high platform, with different statues placed along the stairs, and a cute lion. It can be seen that both Indonesian lions and Chinese lions have the function of guarding the house and warding off evil spirits.

effect.
