What problems should Cuba pay attention to in tourism?
1. Visa Instructions

According to the mutual visa-free agreement between China and China, citizens holding ordinary passports for diplomatic, official and business purposes

are exempted from visas.

tourists who come to Cuba with ordinary personal passports need to apply for tourist visas. With a valid visa, you can stay in Cuba for 3 days, and you can extend it for another 3 days after the expiration. However, the ancient immigration department is highly concerned about the problem of illegal immigrants. In recent years, many China tourists have been detained as illegal immigrants because of their overdue illegal stay. It is suggested that our citizens come to Cuba for tourism or business, pay attention to arrange their own travel schedule according to the validity of visas and air tickets, and leave the country on time.

2. Entry instructions

Entry card is required, with two pages. The main contents to be filled in are name, gender, place of birth, date of birth, nationality, passport number, occupation, city of departure, destination city, detailed address in Cuba and responsible unit, etc. The original is handed over to the immigration officer, and the copy is kept personally. Don't lose it for use when leaving the country.

Third, the customs stipulates that

individuals can carry two bottles of wine, one carton of cigarettes, 1 kilograms of medicine in formal packaging and articles worth $2 duty-free.

You need to fill in the customs declaration form when you bring more than US$ 5, in cash or items of equivalent value into the country. If you need to take it away when you leave the country, you can show a declaration form or relevant documents from the bank to prove its legal source.

each person can carry 23 Cuban cigars when leaving the country; If there are more than 23 pieces, you need to provide invoices issued by regular stores and their copies, otherwise they will be confiscated.

strictly control agricultural products, meat products, medicines and electrical appliances. It is strictly forbidden to bring cordless phones, cordless headsets, video recorders, DVD players, air conditioners, electric stoves, microwave ovens, electric water heaters and electric irons with power exceeding 29 watts into the country. If any of the above items are suspected in personal luggage, customs officers will ask for unpacking inspection. If you do not go through the formalities of tax exemption or entry permit in advance, you will be detained. However, it is allowed to go through the relevant formalities within 3 days from the date of detention, and those who fail to get it after the time limit will be confiscated.

diplomats resident in Cuba are exempt from Havana airport tax with their identity cards, and all other passengers, including non-resident diplomats, are required to pay 25 cuban convertible peso airport taxes.

iv. medical care

Cuban citizens enjoy free medical care. Each community has a community medical station, where ordinary diseases are treated nearby, and serious cases are sent to large hospitals for treatment by the community medical station.

foreigners need to go to a special foreign-related hospital (CLINICA CIRA GARCIA) in Cuba, which is better than the hospital where Cubans go to see a doctor, but the charge is quite high, and only cuban convertible peso is accepted.

v. Public security situation

Cuban society is relatively stable and public security is good. There are no serious terrorist activities and criminal offences, but robbery and theft also occur from time to time. Especially in areas with relatively small population and backward conditions, you must go out together and bring as little cash and valuables as possible. Dress appropriately and don't be too conspicuous. When you go out, keep your passport, air ticket, money, etc. separately and prepare a copy of your certificate. In case of distress, call the police in time. If necessary, you should get in touch with the Embassy of China as soon as possible

VI. Travel transportation

The transportation conditions in Cuba are relatively backward, and there are not many high-end cars, mainly concentrated in foreign permanent offices. Decades ago, most of the classic cars were in poor condition, and most of them had no air conditioning. The main means of transportation are buses, taxis and local trains.

There are two types of taxis. One is imported cars with good condition, such as Peugeot, Hyundai and Volkswagen, which are more common in airports and restaurants. The other kind is the old LADA car, which is more common on the street. It is in poor condition and mainly carries local people, and the price is relatively cheap.

There is an old tradition in Cuba that has been maintained for many years. Because there are too few means of transportation, Cubans waving and stopping cars can be seen everywhere on the roadside. In case of hitchhiking, the vehicles of state-owned institutions with light blue license plates must stop and pull as long as there is space. At major bus stations, the government also sends special personnel to hold signs with the words "stop" to help people waiting for buses to stop.

There are few vehicles in Cuba, and traffic jams rarely occur. Usually travel, driving is smoother. Only after hurricane or continuous rain in rainy season, some sections with poor drainage system are flooded, resulting in traffic jams.

VII. Climate and Natural Disasters

Cuba is suitable for traveling all year round. The annual average temperature is about 25 degrees, and the lowest temperature in winter is not lower than 18 degrees. Summer is the rainy season, and there is more rainfall from July to October, mostly in the afternoon thunderstorms. From June to November, tropical storms and hurricanes frequently occur. In recent years, hurricanes of different levels have been encountered in the rainy season. Some of them passed by Cuba with little harm, and some of them have landed in Cuba, causing storms, water, electricity and gas cuts, building damage and even casualties. The Cuban government has accumulated a lot of experience in dealing with hurricanes. Every time there is a hurricane, prevention and early warning work will be done in advance, and residents in the relevant areas will be transferred in time. But for the sake of safety, our citizens should carefully choose the period of coming to Cuba during the hurricane.

VIII. Local currency

In October p>24, the ancient government issued a decree prohibiting the circulation of US dollars. At present, there are mainly two kinds of local currencies in circulation: (1) cuban convertible peso, and the exchange rate with the US dollar is 1: 1.8. When you exchange dollars for convertible pesos, you need to pay a 1% handling fee. (2) PESO CUBANO, mainly used by Cubans, is 1: 24 compared with convertible pesos. There is no need to pay a handling fee when exchanging.

At present, only convertible pesos are accepted in tourist hotels, large shops, supermarkets and airports, and Cuban pesos can only be used in some farmers' free markets.

There are currency exchange offices near major consumer places, and foreigners can freely exchange convertible foreign currencies for Cuban pesos.
