Yongcheng
The easternmost city in Henan Province, located at the junction of Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu and Shandong provinces, is a key regional central city in Henan Province.
"Yongcheng" means "eternal city", with an area of 2,68 square kilometers and a population of 1,54,6 (214) [1]. In the sixth year of the Great Cause of Sui Dynasty (AD 61), the county was established, and the city was established in October 1996. On January 1, 214, it officially became a municipality directly under the jurisdiction of Henan Province. [2]
Yongcheng is known as "the land of Han Xing" because of the snake-chopping uprising of Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang in Mangdang Mountain, and it has become the only city awarded the title of "China Flour City" because of its excellent flour processing capacity. [3]
Yongcheng is rich in mineral resources, and it is one of the six anthracite bases in China and the largest coal chemical base in Henan Province. Yongcheng has a per capita park green area of 11.55 square meters [4], and is a demonstration city of ecological construction in Henan Province, a national garden city [5] and a national health city [6].
