Haidong Town, located on the east bank of Erhai Lake, Dali City, Yunnan Province, has a long history. Its territory is mainly karst landform, and every village has access to highways, which is rich in tourism resources. It is a township where the Bai people live in a semi-mountainous area and is a traditional agricultural township.
Jinsuo Island is the largest island in Erhai Lake and a typical fishing village. The island is surrounded by the sea and has beautiful scenery. In history, it was the summer palace of the king of Nanzhao. The scenery of Yulong Palace Cave on the island is strange; Fishermen are hospitable and can sing and dance well. The Tianjing Pavilion with cornices, arches and soaring wings is magnificent, standing on the Luo Quan Peninsula facing the sea on three sides, and echoing the three pagodas of Chongsheng Temple across the sea; Surrounded by the legendary "Luo Quan Temple" and "Stone Mule" in Wang Fuyun; The cliff of the pier is engraved with the poems of scholars of past dynasties; It was once rated as a national AA-level scenic spot.
Haidong Town is rich in tourism resources. Along the coastline of Erhai Lake, which is 19.5km long, there are three repulse bays, namely Xiahe, Nancun and Xiangyang, and provincial-level tourist resorts such as Yinsuo Island and Tianjingge. Jinsuo Island has the ruins of Nanzhao King's Summer Palace and the 3-kilometer-long Dragon Palace Cave. Tianjing Pavilion has a touching legend of "Wangfu Cloud", and the annual Buddha Festival and Dragon Boat Race in the first month are spectacular. Haidong people are hospitable, and still retain the custom of killing pigs in the twelfth lunar month and receiving guests from Buddha's wheel in the first month. The traditional hospitality features "eight bowls of earth", pickled rawhide, hot and sour fish, stewed chicken and three tea.
