My hometown

My hometown is a beautiful place. It is located by a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.

But in the old society, it was a poor and backward town. Many people have no jobs. They lead a hard life.

1949 My hometown was liberated. Great changes have taken place there since then. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up. People's life has been greatly improved.

I love my hometown. I love its people more and more. They are working hard to make it richer and more beautiful.
