Fenghuang ancient city in April
Fenghuang Ancient City is a national historical and cultural city, and is praised as the most beautiful town in China by the famous New Zealand writer rewi alley. It is adjacent to Dehang Miao Village in Jishou, Mengdong River in Yongshun and Fanjing Mountain in Guizhou, and it is the only passage between Huaihua, Jishou and Tongren in Guizhou. As a national historical and cultural city, Phoenix's scenery organically combines natural and human characteristics, and the heavy feeling after perspective may be its charm essence of attracting tourists from all directions. This "Fenghuang Ancient City", which was once called one of the most beautiful towns in China by New Zealand writer rewi alley, was built in the Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty. This "Pearl of Xiangxi" is really "small", so small that there is only one decent thing facing the street in the city, but it is a green corridor. The ancient city of Fenghuang takes the ancient street as the central axis, connecting countless alleys and communicating with the whole city. The ancient street is a bluestone road that is vertically arranged and horizontally staggered with the tide. It has been a lively market since ancient times, and now it is full of vitality. Hongqiao, one of the landmark buildings in Fenghuang ancient city, was originally named Wohongqiao and has a long history. The North Gate Tower of Fenghuang Ancient City, whose real name is "Bihuimen", is built with red sandstone, which has both military defense and urban flood control functions, and is a solid barrier of the ancient city. There are cornices and arches on both sides of Fenghuang ancient street, and the shops are decorated with dazzling national handicrafts and strong ancient charm, revealing that Fenghuang ancient city in the depths of the ancient street is divided into old and new urban areas. The old city is surrounded by mountains and waters, and the shallow Tuojiang River passes through the city. The walls made of red sandstone stand on the shore, and ancient pagodas are arranged on Nanhua Mountain. These towers are still rusty iron gates dating back to the Qing Dynasty, and we can still see the magnificent appearance of that year. There is a narrow wooden bridge on the wide river at the entrance of Beicheng, with stones as piers. Both of them have to pass sideways, which was once the only cultural heritage of the people in the Straits who left the city. The ancient city of Fenghuang has four distinct seasons throughout the year (there are flowers in spring and months in autumn, cool breeze in summer and snow in winter), which are all suitable for tourism.
