Shanyao Egg School, also known as Shanxi School and Spark School, is a contemporary literary school. It was formed from the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s, headed by Zhao Shuli, and its main members were Ma Feng, Xi Rong, Shu Wei, Sun Qian and Hu Zheng. They are all native writers in Shanxi. Most of their works are about farmers' lives and are mainly aimed at farmers. They are easy to understand and humorous in style. Their works are like yam eggs growing in the ground, and they see simple and natural beauty and real ideological value in the rustic atmosphere, so people call them "yam egg school" humorously; Because they were all born in the old revolutionary base area of Shanxi, and later took Spark, the official publication of Shanxi Writers Association, as their active position, they were also called "Shanxi School" and "Spark School".
