Kentucky (Kentucky Fried Chicken, Kentucky Fried Chicken, referred to as KFC), is one of the American multinational restaurant chains, and the world's second largest fast-food and the largest fried chicken chain, created in 1952 by the founder of the founder Harland Sanders (Colonel Harland Sanders). It mainly sells high-calorie fast food such as fried chicken, hamburgers, fries, rice, egg tarts, sodas, and so on. KFC China is a subsidiary of Yum China Holdings Limited ("Yum China"), stock code YUMC, and is the franchisee of Yum Brands in mainland China, with exclusive rights to operate the KFC brand in mainland China.
KFC has formed a strategic alliance with PepsiCo, fixing sales of carbonated beverages provided by PepsiCo.In June 2017, the 2017 BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands was published and KFC was ranked 81st. Since February 17, 2018, most KFC outlets in the United Kingdom remain suspended. Of the 900 local stores, 562 remained closed as of Feb. 20, with the number of stores that went out of business on the evening of Feb. 18 peaking at 646 stores.
KFC was ranked 129th on the 2018 World's Top 500 Brands list. in October 2019, Interbrand ranked it 93rd on its list of the Top 100 Global Brands.
On Aug. 25, 2020, KFC decided to discontinue its "Sucking Fingers" due to concerns about personal hygiene during the outbreak.
