Yulin City belongs to Shaanxi Province.
Yulin, located in the northernmost part of Shaanxi Province, looking east at Shanxi, west of Ningxia, south of Yan'an, north of Inner Mongolia. The city has 1 district and 11 counties, with a total area of 43,578 square kilometers and a population of 3.3 million.
Yulin, known as "China's Kuwait", is China's emerging heavy chemical industry base and ecological environment construction of key experimental demonstration area, but also China's implementation of the western development strategy of one of the hot spots.
Yulin has one of the world's seven major coal fields Shenfu coal field, world-class natural gas field Jingbian, China's mega-giant salt rock mines and Shaanxi has the potential for oil development zone, as well as kaolin, bauxite, quartzite, limestone and other eight categories of more than 40 types of mineral resources, but also richer in water resources, water-rich areas and the main energy storage area distribution is consistent with the development of the energy and heavy chemical industry conditions are uniquely suited.
Yulin City, topography and geomorphology
Yulin City, geological and tectonic unit of the North China Plateau of the Ordos Plateau oblique, the northern Shaanxi Plateau concave north-central. The northeastern part of the city is close to the Dongsheng Plateau Convex, which is an ancient plateau with no magmatic rocks and no magmatic activity, and very few earthquakes.
The terrain slopes from the west to the east, with an average elevation of 1,600-1,800 meters in the southwest and 1,000-1,200 meters everywhere else. The highest point is Weiliang in the south of Dingbian, with an elevation of 1,907 meters, and the lowest point is the mouth of Qingjian Wuding River into the Yellow River, with an elevation of 560 meters.
The landforms are divided into three major categories: the wind-sand grassy beach area, the loess hills and gullies area, and the beam-like low hills area. Roughly bounded by the Great Wall, the north is the southern edge of the Mao Wusu Desert Wind Sand Grass Beach Area, covering an area of about 15,813 square kilometers, accounting for 36.7% of the area of Yulin City.
The sandy beaches are lush and green; the seas (lakes) are scattered. The south is the hinterland of the Loess Plateau, with long ravines, hills and mounts interspersed with soil erosion under preliminary control, and the ecological environment has been greatly improved. The area is about 22,300 square kilometers, accounting for 51.75% of the area of Yulin City.
Beam-shaped low hills are mainly distributed in the southwestern Baiyushan district along the Wuding River, Dali River, Yanhe, Luohe's birthplace. The area is about 5000 square kilometers, accounting for 11.55% of the area of Yulin City. The terrain is high, the beam loess is wide, the beams and streams are intertwined, the soil layer is deep, and the water and soil encroachment has been gradually managed.
