"Lobster Detective" is a remake of "The Job" directed by South Korea's Lee Byung-hun. In "Lobster Detective", the fried chicken in the original film was replaced by lobster.

"Lobster Detective" is a comedy police action film directed by Li Xinyun, co-starring Wang Qianyuan, Yuan Shanshan, Liu Hua, Zhou You, Zhou Yunpeng, and special appearances by Shen Teng, Zhang Jincheng and others.

The film is adapted from a true story and tells a series of hilarious anecdotes that happened when anti-narcotics police and undercover agents dealt with drug lords; the film was released in mainland China on June 22, 2018.

Plot synopsis:

The talkative Du Yufei (played by Wang Qianyuan), the semi-retired Uncle Neng (played by Liu Hua), the girl who hates marrying Hua Jie (played by Yuan Shanshan) and the newcomer Chen An unreliable anti-drug police team formed by Li (played by Zhou You). In order to monitor drug dealers more covertly, they took over the lobster shop next door.

Unexpectedly, the business is booming. The anti-narcotics criminal police team made a series of ridiculous jokes while searching for clues while running the lobster shop. There is also a bigger conspiracy hidden around this lobster shop.
