Baijiu is newly ripened and returned to the mountains, and the yellow chickens pecked at the millet in the autumn are getting fat.
When I called the children to cook the chickens and drink the white wine, the children laughed and held the clothes of the people.
Singing a song to get drunk, and dancing in the sunset.
It is not too early to talk about the ten thousand vehicles, so I take a whip and cross a horse to travel a long way.
The foolish woman of Huijie is a lightweight buyer of ministers, and I have left my home to go west to Qin.
Laughing at the sky, I went out of the house.
Translation
I returned from the mountains when the white wine had just been brewed, and the yellow chickens were pecking at the grains which grew fat in autumn.
I shouted to the servant to pour white wine for my stewed yellow chickens, and the children laughed and clamored and tugged at my cloth.
It is a good idea to sing a song and get drunk, and then dance and compete with the setting sun in the fall.
Lobbying the king of the ten-thousand-horsepower has already suffered from the lack of time, and the fastest horses are catching up and starting to run to the faraway road.
The foolish woman of Huiji looked down on the poor Zhu Baichen, and now I too am leaving my home for Chang'an and going west to Qin.
Looking up to the sky and laughing, I walked out of the door, how can I be a long time in the wilderness of the people?
The poem begins with a harvest scene: "The white wine is newly ripened in the mountains, and the yellow chickens are pecking at the millet in the fall." This not only points out that the time to return home from the mountains is the autumn ripening season, but also that the white wine is newly ripe and the yellow chickens are pecking at the millet, showing a cheerful atmosphere, setting off the poet's exuberant mood, and paving the way for the following description.
Next, the poet took a few seemingly close-up "shots", further rendering the joyful feelings. Li Bai has always loved to drink wine, this time is more excited about wine, a door into the house on the "call the child cooking chicken drink white wine", look soaring, quite a joyous celebration of the imperial decree of the intention. Poet's mood infected the family, "children laughing and holding people's clothes", this situation is really moving. Drinking seems to be not enough to show the excitement of the feelings, and then "singing to get drunk to comfort, dance the sun for glory", while drinking, while singing, expressing the feeling of relief. While drinking, he sings to express his relief. When he is drunk and excited, he gets up and dances with his sword, and the sword glitters and competes with the setting sun for glory. In this way, through the children laughing, drinking, singing and dancing several typical scenes, the poet's joyful mood is expressed vividly. On this basis, he further describes his inner world.
"It is not too early to talk about the suffering of the ten-thousand-horseman, and I have to whip my horse and wade through a long distance. Here the poet used the expression of tumbling, with the "bitter not early" counterpoint to the poet's joyful mood, at the same time, in the time of joy, but also "bitter not early" feeling, it is the poet's twisted and complex mood of the real reflection. It is because I hate not to see the emperor earlier, to express their own political ideas, so I can't wait to finish the distant journey at once. "Bitter not earlier" and "whip across the horse" shows the poet's hope and eagerness.
"I left my home and went west to Qin". The poem from the "bitter not early" and very naturally associated with the later years of Zhu Baichen. According to the "Book of Han - Zhu Baichen Biography", Zhu Baichen, a native of Huiji, was poor in his early years and sold firewood to make a living, and he often read books while walking with firewood. His wife left him because of his poverty. Later, Zhu Baichen was recognized by Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty and became the governor of Huiji. In the poem, the phrase "the foolish woman of Huiji" refers to Zhu Baichen's wife. Li Bai compares those short-sighted and contemptuous people to the "Foolish Woman of Huiji", and compares himself to Zhu Baichen, thinking that, like Zhu Baichen, he can go west to Chang'an and rise to the top of the clouds. His complacency is overflowing. The title of the poem only says "Farewell to Children", but here the allusion to "a foolish woman in Huiji" is an accusation. Zhan Ting thinks that this poem is "comparing Liu to a 'foolish woman of Huiji'"
The poem has gone through layers and layers of deduction, and at this point, the waves of feelings surged to the climax. "Laughing up at the sky and going out the door, my generation is not the people of Artemisia." "Laughing up to the sky", you can imagine its complacent demeanor; "is not a person of Artemisia", shows the incomparable self-conceited mentality. These two lines show the image of the poet's complacency to the fullest.
This poem has a special significance for understanding Li Bai's life experience and thoughts and feelings because it describes a major event in his life, and it also has its own characteristics in artistic expression. The poem is good at expressing emotions in the narrative. The poet describes from returning home to leaving home, there is a beginning and an end, the whole piece is used to straighten out the fugue style, but also pick than the Xing, both positive description, but also between the baking. The poet's ingenuity, not an avenue straight to the end, but from the surface to the inside, with twists and turns, with ups and downs, layer by layer to push the feelings to the apex. It is like the ups and downs of the waves, one wave is not yet calm, another wave is born, so that the feelings are brewed more strongly, and finally erupted. The whole poem is full of ups and downs, and the feelings are expressed in a sincere and distinctive way.
