Also known as Jianfengqing, Jianfenglan, Silky Chicken ("Guizhou Folk Prescription Collection" "), sheep and dog footprints ("Guiyang Folk Medicinal Herbs"), Scutellaria baicalensis ("Illustrated Book of Chinese Medicinal Plants"), Wuduoyun ("Illustrated Book of Chinese Higher Plants").

Source: The root or whole plant of Ranunculaceae plant. Harvest the whole plant in summer and dig up the roots in autumn.

Original form

Grass jade plum, also known as: Anemone by the stream.

Perennial herbs. There are 3 to 6 basal leaves; the leaf outline is kidney-shaped and pentagonal, 2.5 to 6.5 cm long, 4.5 to 9.5 cm wide, and 3-lobed; the petiole is 5 to 22 cm long. 1 to 3 scapes, 7 to 65 cm high; cymes with one to three branches, 10 to 30 cm long; involucral bracts with 3 (~4), sheath-like stalks, wide rhombus, 3.2 to 6.5 cm long, 3 lobes; sepals 6 to 8 (~10), white, narrowly obovate or narrowly elliptical, 9 to 14 (~17) mm long, with beards on the top; no petals; many stamens, filament-shaped; carpel 30~ 60. Achene narrowly ovate, 7-8 mm long, glabrous, persistent style hook-shaped.

Habitat distribution occurs in ravines, barren slopes, roadsides and sparse forests. Distributed in Tibet, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Gansu and other places.

Pharmacological effects: Mice were given oral administration of tiger palm lactone and had a significant antitussive effect (inhalation of sulfur dioxide to induce cough method), and oral administration of tiger palm saponins had a very significant expectorant effect (phenol red method). It has no relaxing effect on isolated guinea pig trachea.

Nature and flavor

Bitter, flat, poisonous.

1. "Southern Yunnan Materia Medica": cold in nature, slightly bitter and spicy in taste, and slightly poisonous.

2 "Guiyang Folk Medicinal Herbs": Bitter, flat, slightly toxic.

3 "Guizhou Herbal Medicine": neutral in nature, bitter and slightly pungent in taste, slightly toxic.

Functions and Indications

Clear away heat and detoxify, activate blood circulation and relax muscles. Cure throat moth, gills, scrofula, tuberculosis, carbuncle, malaria, rheumatic pain, stomachache, bruises.

1. "Southern Yunnan Materia Medica": regulates meridians, attacks heat and poison, and removes stomach phlegm. There is phlegm poison in the stomach, and hiccups occur in many people. Redness, swelling, carbuncles, boils, scabies, scabies, phlegm and tuberculosis, horizontal scabies with phlegm, external breasts, cheeks, internal breasts, sore throat, heat and poison in the roots of teeth.

2 "Collection of Guizhou Folk Prescriptions": It can treat bruises and injuries, relax muscles and activate blood circulation, and strengthen and replenish deficiency. It also treats dysentery and can be used externally to treat sores.

3. "Guiyang Folk Medicinal Herbs": calms deficiency heat and relieves heat and toxins. Treat malaria, cough, rheumatic pain; treat sores externally.

4. "Guizhou Herbal Medicine": clear away heat and detoxify, remove blood stasis and relieve pain.

5 "Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Medicine Illustrated Book": nourish blood, warm the body, eliminate accumulation, remove dampness, heal wounds, and discharge pus. After treatment, hypothermia, gonorrhea, yellow water in joints, yellow water sores (external application can cure yellow water sores or remove yellow water in joints), chronic tracheitis, peripheral nerve paralysis, and induce vomiting gastric acid.

6. "Selected Chinese Herbal Medicine from Yunnan": anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving, soothing the liver and promoting gallbladder, relaxing muscles and activating collaterals.

Usage and dosage: Oral administration: decoction, 2 to 3 qian (0.5 to 1 tael for fresh); or soaked in wine. External use: Grind into powder and apply for application, or pound fresh product for application; or decoction for gargling.

Attached Recipe

1. To treat moths: Pound a little of the roots and leaves of tiger palm grass into velvet, put it in the patient’s mouth and swallow it (do not hold it for a long time to avoid blistering, and the moth will be spit out immediately after breaking out) . ("Guizhou Herbal Medicine")

2. Treat laryngitis: Take 3 to 5 cents of the whole tiger palm grass, boil it in water and gargle. ("Selected Chinese Herbal Medicine from Yunnan")

3. To treat phlegm and scrofula around the neck: 2 liang of Tiger Palm Grass, 1 liang of Xiaojiu Kuniu, 1 liang of Purple Prunella, Lingxian Wuqian, Pulsatilla. One or two. Soaked in soju and fried in heavy soup. Take three cups of stew every night for twenty-one days. Those who are weak should not take it. ("Southern Yunnan Materia Medica")

4. To treat unknown swelling and poisoning: grind the root of tiger palm grass into powder, add vinegar and apply to the affected area. ("Guizhou Herbal Medicine")

5. Treat rheumatic pain: take five qian of Jianfengqing, add wine and decoct it.

6. Treat malaria: one or two of Fengqinggen. Mash it (avoid cutting it with a knife), rinse it twice with rice water, mix thoroughly and clarify, pour the upper layer of medicine, and take it two hours before the onset of illness. You can also mash it into pieces and wrap them around the mouth.

7. To treat night sweats and coughs due to physical weakness: Jian Fengqing five qian, Pan Helianthus root five qian. Four liang of stewed pork, taken orally.

8. Treat liver cirrhosis and chronic hepatitis: decoct three qian of Tiger Palm root and appropriate amount of brown sugar and take it. ("Selected Chinese Herbal Medicine from Yunnan")

9. Treat stomach pain: 2 liang of tiger palm grass root. Soak a pound of wine and soak for a week. Take five milliliters each time, three times a day. Or use the root of Sanqian, decoct it and take it. ("Selected Chinese Herbal Medicine in Yunnan")
