Colors:
The colors of the couplets are related to local folklore. The most common color is red, which represents joy and welcome. In some places there are also white, yellow, purple, green and blue. For example, in Hubei, yellow represents the remembrance of newly deceased relatives, purple and blue represent the sacrifice of the deceased into the second year, and green represents the sacrifice of the deceased into the third year. White in some places represents the remembrance of newly deceased relatives.
Temples generally use yellow paper, the elderly died at home, the younger generation of the family generally from that year onwards for three years do not stick red spring couplets, keep the system (serving filial piety is not yet full) with white, green and yellow colors, the first year of white paper, the second year of green paper, the third year of yellow paper, the fourth year of mourning before resuming the use of red paper, so the white, green and yellow colors of the couplets commonly known as "filial piety couplets" "Filial Piety Spring Union" or "Ting Worried Union".
There are also places where the first year to paste yellow couplets, the next year to paste blue couplets, the third year to paste green couplets. There are also places simply three years are not posted couplets to send condolences, so the Spring Festival is necessary to post couplets.
