The chemical composition of panax pseudo-ginseng can be divided into two categories: organic chemical composition and inorganic chemical composition. Organic chemical components mainly include saponins, flavonoids, volatile oil, amino acids, polysaccharides, starch, protein, notoginseng, etc. Inorganic chemical components include nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other large elements and cobalt. Molybdenum, cesium and other trace elements, two kinds of saponins were first obtained from the roots of Panax notoginseng, and the saponins in the related plants of Panax ginseng studied by Japanese Shibata Shoji were similar. Since then, Japanese scholars and Chinese scholars have successively carried out research on the components of Panax Notoginseng saponins, and conducted in-depth and detailed research on the saponins in the taproot, branched root, fine root, rhizome, flower, leaf, fruit and stone of Panax Notoginseng. So far, 24 kinds of dammarane saponins have been obtained. The taproot of Panax Notoginseng is the main medicinal part of Panax Notoginseng, with a total glycoside content of about 7%. The content of total saponins in rhizomes (cuttings) is generally around 10%; The content of total saponins in cut leaves is about 4%; The total saponin content of Panax notoginseng flower is as high as 19%. At present, flavonoids in panax notoginseng have been isolated: there are some roots, and there are few studies on flavonoids in panax notoginseng leaves. The chemical and pharmacological activities of Panax notoginseng need to be further studied. Sugar exists in different forms, so it has different functions. Panax notoginseng contains monosaccharide and polysaccharide. So far, the pharmacological research on polysaccharide has been too little, and further research is needed.
