Chifeng City is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, located in the southeast of Inner Mongolia, between 4117 ′10 ″ north latitude and 45 24 ′15 ″ east longitude. It is positioned as a provincial sub-central city by the autonomous region government.
The city covers a total area of 90,000 square kilometers and governs three districts, seven flags and two counties. It is a multi-ethnic city dominated by Mongolians and Hans, the most populous city in Inner Mongolia and the central city in eastern Inner Mongolia. Chifeng belongs to the semi-arid continental monsoon climate zone in the middle temperate zone, with long winters and drought in spring. Chifeng is one of the cradles of Chinese culture, and the Hongshan Culture site is among them. Chifeng is located in the hinterland of Bohai Economic Zone and Northeast Economic Zone, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei has developed the radiation belt in coordination, with a total GDP of 193328 billion yuan in 2065+06. It is one of the 50 investment environment integrity safety zones in China.
