1. Planting time. Sugarcane is generally suitable for cultivation from late February to early April. The spring sowing time of sugarcane in my country's main production areas is from the end of January to mid-March, earlier in the south and later in the north, but from mid-April or May to mid-July. Autumn sowing is best from the end of August to the end of September and mid-December.
2. Land preparation. Land preparation provides deep, slow, fertile soil conditions for the growth of sugarcane, allowing it to fully meet the growth needs of the root system, thereby better performing the role of the root system in absorbing water and nutrients. At the same time, through land preparation of farmland, diseases, pests and weeds in farmland can also be reduced. Deep plowing is the basis for increasing production. Sugarcane has a well-developed root system. Deep plowing is conducive to root development, the above-ground parts grow quickly, and the yield is high. Deep cultivation is an overall principle and requirement. The specific degree of deep excavation must vary according to the land, the depth of the original tillage layer and the nature of the soil, but is generally around 30 cm. Deep plowing should not destroy the soil layer but should be associated with an increase in fertilizer fees. Early plowing weathers the soil and improves fertility.
3. Open cane planting ditches. Open the ditch and plant the sugarcane to a certain depth to facilitate fertilizer management. The width and depth of the sugarcane ditch should be appropriately made according to the location. Generally, the depth is about 20 cm, the width of the ditch bottom is 20 to 25 cm, and the bottom of the ditch is flat.
4. Apply sufficient base fertilizer. One thousand to two thousand kilograms of agricultural fertilizer is used per mu. Mix 100 kilograms of superphosphate, 25 kilograms of urea, 20 kilograms of potassium sulfate or 15 kilograms of potassium chloride, and carry out the process in the sugarcane cultivation ditch for 7 to 15 days. 10:10:10 50 kg of ternary compound fertilizer.
5. Reasonable irrigation. Fruit sugarcane has a large amount of water, so timely irrigation should be paid attention to, but large amounts of water should be prevented from being flooded. Light water irrigation is advocated, and the soil should be kept dry and moist, mainly moist.
6. Cultivate soil and cultivate seedlings. Generally, soil is made 3 to 4 times a year, with an interval of about 30 days. At the same time, combined with soil seedling cultivation, timely fixation of seedlings, planting 7-8 seedlings per meter.
7. Peel off the bract leaves. The sugarcane plant begins to peel off its leaves after elongation, peeling off 3-4 leaves at a time. Excessive defoliation affects the growth of the plant, but defoliation does not affect timely crushing.
