3 Overview

Comfrey is the name of a formula, and there are about 13 formulas with the same name.

The main ingredients of Comfrey Ointment, a proprietary Chinese medicine, are Comfrey, Angelica sinensis, Fenghuang, Di Huang, Angelica dahurica, Boswellia serrata and Myrrh [1]. It has the efficacy of transforming putrefaction and regenerating muscle, detoxifying and relieving pain. It is used for ulcers caused by heat and toxin, which are characterized by pain on the surface of the sores, fresh color of the sores, and pus and decay to be exhausted.
