Why don’t the Hui people eat big meat?

There are two versions of the legend.

One version (I heard it from adults when I was a child): In a tribal war, the leader of the Hui tribe was defeated and hid behind a cave. The entrance of the cave was attacked by spiders. Caught in a net, the pursuers discovered the cave while searching the mountain. Seeing that the entrance of the cave was covered with spider webs, they thought no one was there and gave up the search for the cave. As a result, the leader escaped. Later, in order to express his gratitude to the spider, because spider and pig have the same sound, he asked future generations not to eat pork as a sign of respect.

Another version (listened to by one of my Hui colleagues): Hui people think pigs are too stupid and eating their meat will make them stupid, so they don’t eat it.
