Only when you get to Guinea can you understand what the power station means to this country.

It is said that the Le Kai Tower, which originated in a corner of West Africa, is a hydropower station under construction by China Hydropower Company, a subsidiary of China Three Gorges Group.
The famous Kailetta Power Station, located in the Konkure Valley in the west of Guinea, has a total installed capacity of only 240,000 kilowatts, which is regarded as "pediatrics" in the eyes of China people, but it is the "Tian Zi Project" in Guinea, attracting the attention of the whole country and being admired by people of all ethnic groups.
Guinea is located in the west of Africa, with an area of 245,000 square kilometers and a population of100,000. The west is a long and narrow coastal plain, and the middle is the Fengtai FoutaDjallon Plateau with an average elevation of 900 meters. The three main rivers in West Africa-Niger River, senegal river and gambia river all originate from here and are known as "West Africa Water Tower". There are also rivers such as Konkure River and Miro River in the territory, with hydropower reserves of about 6000MW, and the hydropower resources currently developed are less than 2%.
As early as the 1960s, the China government had appointed China Hydropower Group Corporation (formerly the Foreign Affairs Department of the Ministry of Water Resources) to organize Sanmenxia Engineering Bureau to help Guinea build hydropower stations. Its name is Jin Kang. Jin Kang Hydropower Station has 4 installed units with a total capacity of 3000 kilowatts. 1 started construction on July 2, 964,1completed in May, 966,1power generation in July, 9661unit. Nearly half a century later, Jin Kang Hydropower Station, as a bright pearl symbolizing the friendship between China and Guinea, is still shining.
In the new century, China Hydropower Foreign Company has built Kaileta Power Station by general contracting. This hydropower station is undoubtedly the "Three Gorges Project" in Guinea, which will make great contributions to its socio-economic development and energy structure adjustment after completion.
How are you doing in Qian Shan, a foreign country, and China Hydropower Group Company? How do hydropower people live there?
To find out, the four of us arrived in Guinea at 20131kloc-0/0/2 Beijing time. Unexpectedly, nowadays, China people with yellow skin, whether staying at Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates or sitting on a flight to West Africa, will have strange eyes and rich feelings and take the initiative to strike up a conversation with you as long as the black people say or hear the word Kaileta. That passion, that envy, is beyond words.
When the plane landed in Conakry, I leaned eagerly against the window, and my eyes seemed to be full of sand: the city looked unsightly against the vast land and sky blue background. Rubbing my eyes, I still can't believe it's true: low houses are lazily arranged, uneven streets are marked with red lines, and the whole city only sees black highways.
Out of the cabin, I saw weeds on both sides of the runway, and the terminal building was low and shabby, like an abandoned farm. If there were no planes like A340 taking off and landing, you would never imagine that this would be the capital airport of Guinea.
Taking a bus from the airport to the station is even more devastating: there are few buildings on both sides of the road that can't bear to be called streets, and there are mixed buildings such as iron houses, wooden houses, plastic sheds and containers everywhere. Surprisingly, there are no traffic lights at urban traffic intersections, let alone zebra crossings, and people and cars are crowded. The most unbearable thing is that garbage piles up into mountains, and black people squat, sit, walk or pile up to do business, all of which are poised and turn a blind eye.
Oh, Conakry, write a poor word and run around the city.
Everything from China is new to us. Conakry, the resident of China Hydropower Company, is a rented six-story building, which is far from magnificent, but it looks like a "landmark" in this area. This is not only the location of the company's management department in Guinea, but also the offices of the Kaileta Project Department and the Capital City Network Reconstruction Project Department. There is an iron fence in front of here, guarded by military police. It looks like a domestic yamen, and the security situation in Guinea can be seen.
I know Zhang Rujun's name like the back of my hand in China, and I only had a brief contact with him at Conakry airport, hotel and residence. During the conversation, I was deeply impressed by his sincere, friendly, wise and open-minded personality and accomplishment. This medium-sized and stocky "general manager" of China Hydropower Guinea is only 36 years old this year. Born in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, he graduated from North China Institute of Water Conservancy in 2000. He worked hard in overseas markets12: in July, 2006, he became the contract manager of Garnert Ma Water Plant Project, and in the following years he served as the deputy director of the contract department of Sudan Lowe Dam Project, the deputy project manager of Sudan Project Department, the manager of Sudan Management Department, the executive deputy general manager of Sudan Upper Atbala Water Control Project and the general manager of Guinea Kailetta Hydropower Project.
In front of the residential building, Zhang Rujun stared at his smiling face and felt that he was in a mess in Conakry. Although he is excellent in all aspects, he still has to work hard to make the Guinean government and society balance.
Sitting at the dining table, Zhang Rujun, whose eyes can talk, expected that my visit would be unexpected.
Visiting the Le Kai Tower is a trip.
Three cars left early, and two armed gendarmes led the way, swinging from side to side and shuttling back and forth, leaving Conakry smoothly. Out of the suburbs, the car has been driving on the two-lane concrete road built by the French in the hilly area, with a speed of more than 60 mph, and sometimes it will be faster. Although it belongs to the alternate season of rainy season and dry season, it is still full of greenery, and the dense and tall mango trees and coconut trees on both sides shrug into jungle scenery, which is refreshing.
What is more pleasant is that Zhang Rujun accompanied him. Along the road to Kailetai, we talked about the Kailetai project, the current hydropower market and future prospects in Africa, and also talked about life experiences and personal feelings. I deliberately challenged and asked questions; He has answers and feelings.
Zhang Rujun said that the EPC mode of Kailetai project is the characteristic of current international projects. Whether it is pure contracting or EPC, African countries have adopted this routine in the past 10 years, that is, the construction was handed over to China company, but the supervisor chose some European companies to implement more standardized management. At the initial stage, African countries doubted our control ability. They don't know the technology themselves, so they hire European companies to collide with China companies. This is the nature of all our current projects. We tried many ways to make the progress of the Le Kai Tower project less disturbed, but it backfired and the interference was very, very great.
How can we get rid of this interference? I asked.
He affirmed: invest, we will invest in ourselves and be BOT or BOOT ourselves. Own investment, franchise, use China's equipment and norms according to China's norms, and follow China's routine. So I think overseas investment is definitely a way out in the future.
When talking about the project supply and procurement channels, Zhang Rujun said with a smile that there is still a long way to go: multi-party inquiry, following the principle that one dollar of project operating income is spent in the best procurement place, which is the essence of international projects. We received US dollars for this project and spent any money we received to reduce monetary losses. Therefore, projects implemented abroad must be compared in many ways, and it is not only the domestic procurement that is the most economical. Combined with the characteristics of the project, it is necessary to integrate resources on a global scale. Our cement is finished in Spain, the fly ash is in India, the template is from Germany, and the dump truck is from France. In other words, a large number of civil engineering materials basically come from the above countries. Civil engineering materials, such as cement, have a shelf life of only 3 months. If you buy from China, the transportation time will be three months, and the quality cannot be guaranteed at all. Most mechanical and electrical equipment is mainly purchased from China, because at present our country has reliable technology and competitive advantages in mechanical and electrical equipment such as water turbines, generators, transformers and governors. There is a more important reason, that is, preferential buyer's import and export credit from The Export-Import Bank of China was used, 75% of which came from China and 25% from several parties. As a China enterprise, we should contribute to the development of import and export business of mechanical and electrical equipment in China!
Honestly. If you are not a hot foreign project manager, how can you have such a mind!
About an hour and a half, the off-road vehicle drove into the clay road in Kubiya. I know, 70 kilometers away from here, it is a service road specially built for Kaileta Power Station.
Zhang Rujun introduced: This red clay road, which has been fully opened to traffic, is only a rough road at present. After the completion of the power station, asphalt pavement will be paved with a width of10m. There are four reinforced concrete bridges along the way, of which the longest bridge is 2 10 1 m and the shortest bridge is 22 m. There is also 1 19 culvert, which is under construction.
In the dry season, cars are driving on the red clay road, rolling up dust and flying like "red dragons". If two cars face each other, the front window will suddenly blur. I asked Zhang Rujun that the sports cars on the road, the fruit trees and cottages along the way were seriously polluted, and the people did not dispute?
He said with a smile, land acquisition is allowed by the government, road construction is beneficial for people in mountainous areas to travel, and the Guinean people are simple and kind, knowing that we China people are here to build power stations for their benefit. I am very envious to learn that we have recruited 1500 local people to work in the power station.
On the way, I met Tan, the deputy general manager who came from the construction site. He looked haggard and knew that he was going back to China for a holiday. I shook hands with him, talking and laughing. I feel that he did not unload the heavy mechanical and electrical installation task, but took away too much guilt for his family.
The car temporarily transited to the Baylor border, which is 8 spans 2 10 meters long, and stopped. There are pedestrians and vehicles on the bridge, and the river is rushing under the bridge. Looking around, the piers of permanent bridges under construction have stood side by side with great momentum, just waiting for the erection of beams.
This should be the bottleneck and top priority of Kailetai's external traffic. Adjacent to the hillside is a prefabricated factory, where large pieces of pouring blocks are neatly stacked inside and outside, and many people with yellow skin and black skin are busy here.
Zhang Rujun said that in order to ensure the power generation of Le Kai Tower in 20 15, large-scale electromechanical equipment must be delivered to the installation site on schedule, and all bridges and culverts should be connected before the end of May 20 14.
I think this is not only the decision of the commander, but also the earnest expectation of the Guinean people.
