1. Angiotensin receptor antagonists (ARBs): such as valsartan (Devon) and losartan (Kosoya). It has the same effect as ACEI and does not cause dry cough. ACEI and ARB antihypertensive drugs are the first choice for diabetic patients.

2. Calcium antagonists: mainly dihydropyridines, including nifedipine (nifedipine sustained-release tablets, Baixintong), nitrendipine, amlodipine (Luohuoxi) and other drugs. It also has the function of protecting organs, and antihypertensive drugs are the main drugs for diabetic patients. Side effects are rapid heartbeat and ankle edema.

3. Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI): such as captopril, enalapril, benazepril (Lotensin) and fosinopril (Monroe). It has the function of protecting organs, especially the latter two drugs are discharged through two channels, which is suitable for patients with diabetic nephropathy. About 10% patients have side effects of dry cough.
