1. Planting time
Cherry seeds are usually planted in spring or autumn. The warm climate helps the seeds to take root and germinate, and also facilitates the growth of seedlings. The temperature in summer is too high, and seedlings are easily burned by strong light after they grow. High temperature will also accelerate water loss and affect its survival. Winter is relatively cold and it is difficult for seeds to take root.
2. Seed selection and germination
After picking the mature cherries, wash off the pulp, take out the seeds, dry them in the shade and hide them in the sand until they need to be planted. Then take it out. In order to improve its germination rate, you can soak it in warm water for a day before sowing, take it out and wrap it in a wet paper towel. It will sprout in half a month.
3. Site selection and fertilization
Planting cherries generally requires deep soil. Loose and fertile soil is very helpful for plant growth. Before planting, you need to fertilize the soil. After applying enough base fertilizer, turn it over deeply and bury the fertilizer into the soil to prevent it from evaporating and wasting. Afterwards, a border should be leveled and made, with a border width of 1-1.2 meters, and a drainage ditch should be reserved in areas prone to water accumulation.
4. Planting
Sow the cherries seeds into the soil, cover them with 2 cm of soil, compact them, and water them appropriately to keep the soil moist. . Usually when the seedlings grow to 3 cm high, thinning is required. When the growth period reaches its peak, top-dressing fertilizer should be applied every 20 days to allow the plants to develop better.
