Most of the pond horn fish are cultured artificially, and their growth rate is very fast, which can weigh up to 2 kg a year, and the largest individual can reach more than 10 kg. It has low requirements for domestic water quality and is resistant to hypoxia. Pinctada mostly grows at the bottom of sand or gravel with pollution-free water quality or in large and medium-sized rivers with fast flow rate.
