Onigiri is a traditional Japanese food that is tasty and easy to carry around, whether you buy them at a convenience store and heat them up for busy times, or make your own to take to work or school as a lunchbox.
The onigiri can be filled with a variety of toppings, from beef to eel, salmon, crab, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, and even cheese and meat floss, and are not set in stone, so we can buy them and make them according to our own preferences.
When we usually make our own onigiri, the rice may not stick well and the onigiri will be loose easily. In this case, we can wrap the whole rice ball with seaweed to prevent it from falling apart, or add glutinous rice to increase the stickiness of the rice ball when cooking.
