Part 1: Prepare to melt the purchased jelly powder.
1, pour 85g of jelly powder into the bowl. No matter what the taste of jelly powder is, just pour the whole bag in. Jello is just one of many brands in jelly powder, and there should be other brands of jelly powder in the mall.
2. Pour 1 cup of boiling water into the bowl and stir until the powder melts. Boil a cup of boiled water and pour it into a bowl filled with jelly powder. Keep stirring until the powder is completely dissolved. This process takes 2 minutes. Stir with a fork, hand whisk or rubber scraper.
3. Add 1 cup of cold water and stir for a few seconds. Cold water can dilute jelly powder's solution and reduce it to the required temperature. If you want to use canned fruit, use canned juice instead of cold water. Because jelly powder has been dissolved in boiling water, it doesn't take long to stir for the second time.
Part 2: Select and Place Fruits
1, choose 3 or 4 kinds of fruits you like. Choose fruits with different colors, and the jelly will be very beautiful. For example, you can spread a layer of strawberry slices, a layer of green grapes, a layer of raspberries and a layer of red grapes in the bowl. If you feel almost yellow, chop up bananas and put them inside, or add some canned pineapples to make the jelly more delicious. If you use tasteless jelly powder, you can mix the fruits at will. If you use jelly powder with a fruity flavor, such as mango flavor, then you should think about which fruits and mango taste better together.
This recipe is very loose on the dosage of various raw materials. Generally speaking, 9 1 0g fruit needs to be added to jelly powder with 85g standard package.
2. Do not add fresh pineapple, kiwi fruit, mango, ginger, fig or guava. The above fruits will react with jelly, which will hinder the solidification of jelly, and finally the jelly will be like paste. If you use canned pineapple, don't worry. The protease contained in the above fruits will prevent the protein in the jelly from solidifying!
If you use canned fruit, you should first filter out the liquid in the can. These liquids can also be used to make jelly later.
3. Wash the fruit and cut it into small pieces. Put the fruit in the filter basket, then turn on the tap and wash it thoroughly. After washing, put the fruit on the cutting board and cut it into bite-sized chunks with a knife. If you want to add grapes, cut the grapes in half. If you want to add strawberries, cut off the top of the strawberries, and then cut them into two and a half or four pieces. Bananas should be cut into discs. Don't cut raspberries, blackberries and blueberries, just throw them into the bowl!
4. Spread the fruit in a bowl or a jelly mold. Cover each fruit with a layer first. If you have 230g strawberries, spread a layer of strawberries in the bowl. After laying strawberries, lay another kind of fruit on top. This is repeated until all the fruits are used up. The layering between fruits must be clear, so that the finished product will look good. The mouth of the bowl can't bend inward, otherwise the jelly won't pour out.
The width of the bowl determines the thickness of the fruit layer. If you want the fruit layer to look thicker, choose a high bowl with a narrow opening; If you want the fruit layer to look thinner, choose a shallow bowl with a wide opening.
Even if the fruit doesn't fill the whole bowl, it doesn't matter. The jelly liquid will fill the gaps between the fruit pieces.
Part 3: homemade vegetarian jelly
1 If you are a vegetarian, you can make your own vegetarian jelly. The raw materials for making Jello or other brands of jelly usually come from the tendons of pigs or cows. If you are a vegetarian, you'd better find other raw materials instead. Agar, also called watercress, is an algae with a texture close to jelly. You can use it instead of jelly powder. You can buy agar powder online or in specialty health food stores.
2. Pour agar powder, juice, water and sugar into the pot on the stove. When making red jelly, add 1.5 teaspoon of agar powder, 1 cup of red grape juice, 1 glass of water and 1? 4 cups of sugar mixed. When making green jelly, add 1.5 teaspoon of agar powder, 1 cup of green apple juice, 1 glass of water and 1? 4 cups of sugar mixed. Turn the fire to the maximum so that the mixture can boil faster.
3. Let the mixed liquid boil for 2 minutes, while stirring from time to time. After the liquid is boiled, set the timer to 2 minutes. When the time comes, take the pot away from the fire. If you plan to make green jelly, add a few drops of green food pigment at this time.
If you are going to make red jelly, you don't need to add anything.
