Creative background:
As for the background of this poem, Preface to Mao Poetry says: "Taoyao" is also caused by empresses. If you are not jealous, then men and women will be righteous, marriage will be timely, and there will be no people in the country. " Thought it had something to do with the empresses and kings. Fang Yurun refuted this view in The Primitive Book of Songs, arguing that "it is too pedantic to be poetic".
Modern scholars generally don't take the view of Preface to Mao's Poems, but think it is a poem to congratulate a young girl on her marriage.
Some people also put forward a new view that this poem is the lyrics of the ancestors' exorcism sacrifice, and its content is to exorcise ghosts and gods, make them return to their homes, and pray for it to bless their loved ones on earth.
