Soak the day lily for 10-30 minutes before eating.
When soaking day lilies, the soaking time should be determined according to the color and quality of the day lilies when purchased. Generally, dried yellow vegetables with darker colors need to be soaked for about 30 minutes, while those with lighter colors need to be soaked for about 30 minutes. Pickled day lilies need to be soaked for about 10 minutes.
Day lily is cultivated in all parts of north and south China, mostly distributed in the south of Qinling Mountains, Hunan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hubei, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Gansu, Shaanxi, Jilin, Guangdong and the grasslands of Inner Mongolia. Qu County in Sichuan is known as the "Hometown of Yellow Flowers in China". Moreover, Shaodong County and Qidong County are named as the “original areas of day lily”. The daylilies produced in Qingyang, Gansu are of high quality and are sold overseas.
